Is there a quick link to existing polls?
I see lots of discussions about polls, but here's something very basic I can't figure out.? I created a poll and it is in progress and working well.? The members comment that it is easy to use.? If I am on the homepage of the group I cannot find a direct link in the left column leading me to the poll.? There are links for files, databases, and creating a new poll, but I can't find one for an existing poll.? I know I can link to it via the message announcing its creation, just wondering if there's another link that I'm not seeing.
Thanks in advance!!! |

?
I sent an email about a poll a while ago and didn't receive any answer.
?
I created a poll to a group where only a handful of members out of 703 members can post to the group.?
?
It seems the only members who were able to vote in the poll were the members who can post mail to the group. The others received messages back saying the poll was unavailable to them.
?
I went over the list of things they needed to do, like make sure they were signed in.
Only to receive a note from one member saying "I am NOT DUMB" I was signed in.
?
Now a?member rejoined because she accidently removed herself while trying to vote in the poll and before I could change her status so she can't post in the group, she voted.
?
So now I am beginning to think that only members who can write to the group can vote in polls. Ilene

Re: Why does OBO appear in posts?
Ken,
See examples below. Some come thru from IO as “On behalf of” and someThe ones that come through as "Display name via Groups.io" are those whose address has been rewritten to work around DMARC. This affects Yahoo Mail, AOL, and certain other sending services. The ones that come through as "[email protected] On Behalf Of Display name" I don't see in my email interfaces (Gmail on the web or in Thunderbird, or Gmail mobile). I'm going to guess that's how your email interface chooses to handle messages that are sent through a mailing list. How to control how the header comes thru?I don't believe you can for the via case. Maybe through settings in your email interface for the OBO case. Shal -- Help: /static/help More Help: /g/GroupManagersForum/wiki Even More Help: Search button at the top of Messages list |

These should have been there all along, but you may have never noticed them.? Since your group wasn't previously moderated, it wouldn't have made any difference in the posting procedures. If these were actually changed from M to P when you put the group on moderation, that would definitely be a bug to report to support. Re: Posts passing without being approved
开云体育Duane, are you sure you understood my question? Or maybe I didn?t express it well enough …. ? Members that always require approval will have a blue M (setting of Override: moderated.)? Those with the blue P will always be able to post (setting of Override: not moderated).? Because of special situations that may arise, such as yours, it's usually not a good idea to use the P setting.? These settings are in effect regardless of group settings.

Re: Posts passing without being approved
开云体育Shal, you wrote: Members copied over during a Y!Group transfer retain the Posting Privileges they had there (along with their Email Delivery setting and join date). So it is possible that those particular members were also Unmoderated in the Y!Group. ? o.k. but this in my opinion does not explain the following setting: - three or four members were moderated – no matter if still remainings of the old yahoo group or newly moderated - for special reasons I set the whole group on moderated so that each incoming post would have to be accepted individually - In this case the three or four moderated members all of a sudden were the only ones who could post (having the little blue P next to their name), ? Does this mean putting everybody on moderated overrides the members who were originally moderated? Not having been aware of this fact the contrary of what I intended took place: Everybodys post had to be individually accepted exept the ones of the moderated members.
Now of course I corrected this with your help (smile). Victoria ? ? |

Re: Owner not showing up on member list
Duane, thanks for the suggestion :) .? I'll try "Infinite Scroll" for a while and see how it works.? The multi-page thing has caught a few members already who failed to scroll down to the very bottom.? I must say that there's something about the layout of the page that tricks my brain into thinking the list is complete.? It will just take some getting used to, but we'll get there!
Thanks! |

Re: Attached Picture Not In Emailed Photos.
Lily et al --
Mark has informed me that he has fixed the bug; the Emailed Photos folder is no longer hidden if you have set Attachments to Moderate. Be advised that you can still delete any residual, unwanted attachments by selecting the Edit Message option under the More menu. Regards, Bruce? -- The system Help is your friend.??/static/help |

Victoria,
? Yes. Members copied over during a Y!Group transfer retain the Posting Privileges they had there (along with their Email Delivery setting and join date). Re: Posts passing without being approved
开云体育Do you have more than a single owner? If there are co-owners or moderators, you will not be notified when they approve a post... Yes, I do. But the problem was indeed the overriding moderation (P) of some members as Shal supposed. Approval of posts shows up in “activities”, as I noticed. Victoria |

Re: Importing a csv list
Peter, A further question: does the Y! Group from which the transfer has taken place retain the data until it is closed/deleted? ? Yes. The transfer agent copies data only, nothing in the Y!Group is altered. If you want to close, moderate, or otherwise change the Y!Group you have to do that manually. See also the Afterward section of GMF's wiki page about Y!Group transfers. Shal -- Help: /static/help More Help: /g/GroupManagersForum/wiki Even More Help: Search button at the top of Messages list |

Re: Importing a csv list
Any information requested in the transfer is copied from the YG!, nothing is actually touched.? What, if anything, happens to the original information is up to the YG! owner.

Posts passing without being approved
开云体育Shal, I did indeed find only a few members with that P and changed it. ? How can this happen? ? Or, you may have one or more thread with a hashtag carrying the Replies Unmoderated option ? We do not work with hashtags, so this cannot be the reason. But I noticed that the few members concerned were at times moderated in the old yahoo group. Could that be the reason? Thanks anyway Victoria ? . |
