Re: Subgroup Question
Yes, the original address should still work, as well as the new one, (initially) [email protected]
Using the original link will take them to the main group home page. Duane -- Help: /static/help GMF's Wiki: /g/GroupManagersForum/wiki Search button at the top of Messages list A few site FAQs: /static/pricing#frequently-asked-questions |

Re: Cannot uncheck "New Users Moderated"
For spam control one box must be checked. Perhaps that is the only one that is checked. Ullmang On Wed, Sep 19, 2018, 10:01 AM Tom Esker <tesker@...> wrote:

Subgroup Question
Bob Cook
I have a private group, discoveryowners.
If I create a subgroup.... If someone sends an email to post a message to [email protected],?will it still get posted to the main group? Could they still directly access the main group at /g/discoveryowners? I am trying to cover all the bases for changes required of any existing members when a subgroup is created. THANKS, Bob ? |

Re: IO never accepts invitation to be a member of my Yahoo group. Why?? What do I do?
I have the same problem and I have followed the instructions for two groups. ?It has been 48 hours and the only message I have is that the invite has been received by groups.io ?Came here because I am fed up with yahoogroups. ?I really hope it will be better.

Re: Do I need a Groups.io a ccount? A subscriber asked....
I'd say you were correct, but incomplete.
When the group was transferred from Yahoo, each person had an account created for them that is their email address.? (The exception would be anyone that previously used that email address to open an account here.? In that case, they were added to your group.)? They can change their message delivery via email using the addresses as shown at /static/help#emailcommands. If they'd like to use the group online, they could use the information at /g/GroupManagersForum/wiki/How-to-Set-a-Personal-Password-and-Profile%3B-Changing-Email-Address to check it out.? Note that they never need to set a password if they don't want to, they can just use the "Email me a link to log in" when they want to access the group online.? Once they've logged in, they will stay logged in for 30 days on each device unless they intentionally log out.? The links I gave are to publicly viewable pages, so you can include them in emails when answering questions. Having an account here is so much easier than Y! that it often confuses people! ;>) Duane -- Help: /static/help GMF's Wiki: /g/GroupManagersForum/wiki Search button at the top of Messages list A few site FAQs: /static/pricing#frequently-asked-questions |

Re: How can I add a Constant Contact list to groups.io?
My group is? ?? ? ? ? [email protected]
Basically, a friend sends emails to lots of addresses from constant contact. I will ask them what they get if try to add the above .io to their constant contact. |

Do I need a Groups.io a ccount? A subscriber asked....
Just on board with Groups.io from YahooGroups. A couple of what might seem like obvious questions, at least based on years at YahooGroups, but I wanted to double check.
Can y'all can read what I was asked -- and how I answered -- and tell me if I was correct? One subscriber asked: "Let me see if I have this right. I don't have to do anything to get on the site, or read all the mail just as before. Just respond when I want to, to anything I want to. I have already added [email protected] to my address book. That's it???? Just sounds too simple. I must have missed something.. " I said: Like YahooGroups, the only reason you'd want to create an IO account is if you want to * make changes to your account settings * customize how you get messages * search through the messages * view messages via the Web site Did I get that right? --Steve |

Re: Using my own domain
It looks to me like it's included in the price for Enterprise groups, which is where it's available.? According to the Pricing page, you'd have a fully customizable home page.? It doesn't say anything about other pages.

Using my own domain
Using my own domain seems pretty simple after reading about it in the help section. Is it really as easy as changing my DNS and letting groups.io know to 'flip the switch'? Is there a fee??
If I do use groups.io with my own domain how much can I customize the page design? Are there any examples to point me to where this is being done? Thanks! Paige Loter |

Re: IO never accepts invitation to be a member of my Yahoo group. Why?? What do I do?
stopthethyroidmadness, I'm confused. The first time I invited [email protected]?into my Yahoo membership, I waited about three weeks...no acceptance of invite. Just tried again...it's now been a week and no acceptance of membership.? You haven't told us anything about what other steps you've taken, so we can only guess at what the problem might be. In particular, inviting the transfer agent (Step 2) has no effect unless you've already initiated the transfer (Step 1). The Start New Transfer page is how you tell the transfer agent which Groups.io group is to receive the content of your Yahoo Group. Review the instructions and be sure you've followed the steps in order. Note the boxed text at the top of the page. Re: IO never accepts invitation to be a member of my Yahoo group. Why?? What do I do?
It's possible that it can take that long.? It's also possible that you've missed a step.? Go through /g/GroupManagersForum/message/8697 carefully to determine what your status is.
