The welcome message can be deactivated on the transfer page.

If they were transferred from Yahoo, their accounts are already activated.
?
How can the owner tell if the members have actually moved to Groups.io
Go to Admin->Members. They are all listed there.

Hope this helps,
Bruce?

Couldn¡¯t you just send a msg to the group asking the members to check in?

I recently transferred a Yahoo group. I'm still working through navigating the new Groups.io group.
Generally, the transfer was fast and went well.
But I have a question.
Is there a way to tell which transferred members are actually signing in or activating their Groups.io membership.
How can the owner tell if the members have actually moved to Groups.io

Re: View / Change Plan Tab Missing

Re: Files won't load

What does this say in your group's Admin -> Settings page?

Are you referring to the Files menu item on the left nav bar or the Upload File button on the Files page?
Were you logged in as Owner, Moderator, or Subscriber when viewing the site?
Thanks
Toby

Re: Moderated Topic Still Posted Without Approval

set a topic to moderated. I now have several replies that have been posted. I don't understand why they have been posted after setting the topic to Moderated. I approved one message.

On the website for your group under messages a topic that has been moderated has a small symbol at the beginning of that topic. Any change in the topic heading, even leaving out an ! Makes it a new topic.
Hope this helps

It may be that I don't understand and by approving the one message, I somehow removed the Moderation.

If anyone has used this and can explain, please do so.

Direct Add with "Special Notice" email option

I'm about to do a direct add of several hundred?members to a new group transferring from Yahoo. ?Several of them have "Special notice" selected as their email option. ?In the direct add instructions (at the bottom of the direct add page) Special notice is not noted as an option to append to the entry. ?Is that an option, and if so what is the format?

Would it be "John Doe <JohnDoe@...> special"? ?And I assume that if that is in a CSV file the entire line is in the?same cell in column 1?

Thanks for your help.

Peace,
Tom

Btw, does a member get an email upon being deleted? Or is that something optional to set up?

Re: #howlong Answer from Support #howlong

?I've seen the topic touched on Group Managers before, and the advice was to go to Support. That sounds ineffective. I'll look for group managers to ask directly.

Thank you for the answers!

My groups' members didn't. (There were thousands of them -- I would have noticed!)

Resizing photos

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

Hello

?

Is there a way to bulk resize all existing pictures in the photos section?

Optionally, what is the recommended resize value for new photos?

I am just trying to take some precautions so that things do not come out of control later.

?

Thanks

Jorgen

Re: Members requiring approval to join group

I would think not, as they are transferred, not manually subscribing to the group.

There is no way to filter the transferred members by email delivery method. However, while Yahoo may not allow you to export more than 1000 members, I have heard nothing to suggest that the same limitation applies to the transfer agent.?

I suggest you allow the transfer agent to move them and simply delete them afterward. In GIO, the member list can be sorted by the message delivery option and a bulk deletion is very straightforward...just click the checkbox next to each one and select "Remove" from the Action menu.

Re: Members transferered from Yahoo group cannot sign in to new Groups.io group

If you have transferred the group from Yahoo, everyone involved will already have an account under the transferred email addresses. They do not need to be confirmed and no confirmation emails will be sent.

Group members also do not have to log in in order to send emails to the group or change their subscription settings.

If they want to access group files and photos and so on, login instructions can be found at?/static/help#password?

Bruce
