Re: I Got Bounced from my AOL Email address

Do you mean that a message from groups.io to your AOL address bounced?? Or that you were removed from a group?? AOL addresses quite regularly have problems with both.? If you were removed, check the activity log to see if was for "marked message as spam."? If so, take a look at /g/GroupManagersForum/wiki/Removed-for-spam

I Got Bounced from my AOL Email address

Dr. Denver Fox

Is this happening to any other *.AOL subscribers?? Systemic?? Anomaly?

Re: Spam from Facebook

This should be reported to support. It could have originated from either GIO or Facebook, and is worthy of investigation for a possible bug.?

I wouldn't call it spam, though. Old messages are not spam. Are they dupes of previous messages, or just something that should have posted a long time ago and got held up somehow?

Agreed. /static/help#password

Also check to see if they have clicked on their confirmation link. Pull up their entry in the members list look for the absence of an "NC" badge. Until this is done, they won't be able to post by email, either.

Your group settings allow people to see your posts - but only subscribers can post. Your settings are, according to your group homepage:
?All subscribers can post to the group.
?Posts to this group do not require approval from the moderators.
?Posts from new users require approval from the moderators.
?Messages are set to reply to group.
?Subscriptions to this group do not require approval from the moderators.

How to transfer a Yahoo Group

Hi

Thanks to an announcement from Patty Sliny on her group, I'd like to transfer my considerably smaller, and relatively new Yahoo Pfaff Icon group to this platform. While I have a FB page, many of my members really do not want to be on FB.

How do I do the transfer? I've looked at the obvious links, but I don't see a clear way that I can do that unassisted.

Thanks.

Dale Ricklefs, Yahoo and Facebook Pfaff Icon owner

Re: Spam from Facebook

I had the same thing happen, luckily I had the integration set for Moderated so they didn't go out to the group.

Re: some links in footer not working

Thanks for the suggestion Toby.
I forwarded it on to her, she has done as was suggested in the link but it hasn¡¯t made any difference. When she hovers her cursor on the links, she sees the address, but when she clicks nothing happens.
It is only in groups.io messages that the links don¡¯t work for her, the ¡°reply¡± links in any Yahoo group work fine.
She is receiving, reading messages and replying all in her Postbox program, all without any problems except the Reply to Group and Reply to Sender not working in the groups.io mail.
Any further suggestions please ??

She likely does not have the "Mailto:" handler set on her system.? That's how those links work.?

Same here - all seemed to come from Facebook integration, at 11:10 pm CT.

Re: How to Transfer a Yahoo Group, but Reduce the Photos Section #howtoguide

Alright.? I have finally pulled the trigger.? I am transferring my two very large and active Yahoo Groups over to Groups.IO.? Receiving the final email from Concierge Services telling me my "issues have been resolved", when they were not, and no reply back from Concierge Services sealed the deal.? We are truly now without any customer service support at all, and Oath has apparently decided not to invest any resources in a segment of their business that had, at one time, about 3 million users (or more, possibly).? That's a LOT of advertising eyeballs they are willing to ignore, and I find that inexplicable from my business/marketing experience.? Completely perplexing they are willing to ignore what clearly is a significant potential revenue stream.? But, it is what it is, and I love what Mark has done with this group chat platform.? For me, it's sort of what Yahoo Groups was and should be.? The fulfillment of the statement, "if you could recreate the wheel, what would it look like?"? So, over we all go.? Thank you everyone for your help.? I'm sure I'll have more questions as we sit in queue to be transferred.? And, my hope is, that the damage to one of my lists does not significantly affec the list transfer process.? I knew that was a risk I was taking in waiting, as Yahoo Groups continues to degrade.? So, crossing my fingers everything transfers over okay.

So maybe a Groups.io wide thing?

Re: Spam from Facebook

I've got one group with Facebook Integration set to a Facebook page. This morning I received 10 unnecessary historic integration posts dated between April and late May - all posts were time at 06:10 CET.

I have two groups that are both linked to Facebook. We just got about a hundred messages containing old facebook posts. Any idea what's happening?

I checked?again and no messages were transferred.
It said in the recap that none were transferred.
So I have no idea why that happened, but it did.

Ilene --?

I haven't been here all that long compared to some folks, but this is the first time I've ever heard of a group being transferred that had NONE of the messages come over.

I suggest going back to the transfer page and checking:

-- Whether your source and target group names are correct, and
-- Ensuring that you didn't inadvertently make the selection that the message archive should not be transferred.

It's entirely possible that the transfer agent made a mistake, but I don't want to leave this issue hanging while other group owners are expecting better performance for their own transfers.

Regards,
Bruce

I confirmed in Activity that it was sent as special but shouldn't it automatically add a hashtag or something. Otherwise members might wonder why they got mail from the group all of a sudden.

Opinions?
?It is possible to create a hashtag that when used, sends the tagged message as a Special Notice. But (unlike chats, polls and events) special notices do not automatically get a hashtag.

This is a good suggestion for beta and if posted there I will give it a bump.
