Re: Daily Digest Problem #issue

Forgive my ignorance. Whitelist? Does that mean that every one of our members need to mark the emails as not spam?

Thank you for your input.?

Re: My group is set to restricted but it added a member without approval #addmembers

Ohhhh!? Well that is certainly logical, but not what I expected. LOL!

Thank you for clarifying and responding so quickly, everyone!
Debbie

Re: My group is set to restricted but it added a member without approval #addmembers

Debbie, it worked exactly as it is supposed to.

If you invite someone to join, the software assumes you want the person to join and it treats the potential member as pre-approved.

?

I sent an invite from the group to one of my other "testing" email addresses.
Then I clicked on the link in that email to accept.

It added that email address as a member without my approval as owner/moderator. I have my group set to "restricted".
I checked "approvals" on the site and that email address is not there. I checked Members/Members and the email is showing as a member.

Is there some other setting I've missed? I really want to approve members before allowing a join.
Thanks,
Debbie

"Invite" sends a pre-approved invitation. No approval is required. If you want someone to simply apply and wait for approval, either send them a link to the group's home page, or instruct them to send an email to [your group name][email protected].

#calendar#suggestion suggestion for calendar listing.

Bill Libecap

I would like to be able to list all the things on a groups calendar for the period of a year in one list instead?of having to look at each month.?

Also, the cold going around here is a super-bad one. So unless Mark has a heroic immune system (which actually would not surprise me;), expect him to be down for about a week. Some people are down for two weeks with this vicious bug.

That was true at the time it was written but Mark has since posted (on the beta group) that he has gone down with 'flu so you might have to wait a littel longer.

Re: [email protected] not joining

Is there any process to get it pushed as we need to get of Yahoo asap. We all know is failing left right and center and need to get off it as soon as we can

Re: I was unsubbed

Just want to point out that this thread presents an excellent reason for always having a co-owner or two with full moderator privileges. There is undoubtedly a defect or a misunderstanding at the bottom of this. We have to accept the reality that no matter how diligent we are, defects and misunderstandings are always present in software systems (and most other things). A co-ownership is common sense protection from a number of mishaps.

Re: Daily Digest Problem #issue

My mail service is Gmail and I find messages from a number of wanted or unobjectionable sources being sent to the Spam folder some of the time. Sources such as the Microsoft Community, HP, a local theatre newsletter, etc. I assume there is content in the message that their spam algorithm has flagged because it happens only for some messages. So if your mail provider does something similar, you should expect this to happen some of the time. Whitelisting should override the spam filter, if available.

Daily Digest Problem #issue

Edited

Hello all,

Is anyone else experiencing/reporting issues with the delivery of Daily Digest?? I'm one of the owners of our group.? This week, I've received spotty delivery of the Daily Digest (full).? I also have a testing account that did't receive 2 DD's this week.
I'm concerned our members (who about 90% of whom are set up on Daily Digest) are not receiving them.

Sincerely?

Val

Re: #subgroups change to usual email address #subgroups

Pete,

I am hoping that?[email protected] will continue to work but would like?to read this in black and white before I press the create sub group button.
?
mygroup@groups.io will become an alias for myprimary@mygroup.groups.io
Likewise for the web addresses:
/g/mygroup => https://mygroup.groups.io/g/myprimary
Where myprimary is whatever name you choose to give it, if you don't leave it as the default "main".

Note that your group members will be exposed to the new names, both in the addresses shown in their browser and in the email addresses shown in messages. But their bookmarks, address address book, autocomplete, old messages, and wherever else the old addresses have been stored will continue to work.

#subgroups change to usual email address #subgroups

I am sorry if I am being stupid, or if this is stated somewhere. I have looked but cannot find the answer.

I would like to create a sub group. But am nervous because I have not seen any confirmation anywhere that the existing email address for the site will continue unchanged.

I don't want to have to suddenly tell everyone that instead of sending to [email protected] they now have to send to [email protected]

I am hoping that?[email protected] will continue to work but would like?to read this in black and white before I press the create sub group button.

Many thanks
Pete

New Member Can't Use Her Email Address and Had to Change

~mary~

I have a brand new member on one of my groups.io group.? She just now posted:

Hi, this is actually not my correct address. It's XXX
When I went to join with that address groups.io said it was not valid.
All my email from this address goes there so that's where I'll be
replying and posting from.
?
What happened?? Why won't groups.io let her use her original address?? Thanks, Mary

I like to use another of my email addresses to set as an owner in case I have a problem like you had.

I'm glad to hear it worked out

RSVP issues #calendar

Southenders Admin

I've taken a premium subscription with RSVP availability. For my group of old guys, it may not be viable. The email requires them to push
Are You Going, which takes them to the webpage for RSVP'ing. Not all of them read the easy instruction manual which explained the methodology to them, and those who do get there find it confusing. Are we alone?

On another front, does anyone else who has RSVP get a security warning when they try to actually RSVP? I have a member with a Samsung phone who alerted me to the problem

Changing times on calendars

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

I am trying to update time on our state ARES net which occurs on Sundays. I have gone into the calendar to change the time from 5 pm to 6 pm due to Daylight Savings Time, saved the edit, then when the calendar comes back up the date has not changed. I was able to change the time on another net on a different date. Any ideas about why changing the time works sometimes and doesn¡¯t others?

?

Thanks!
