But that won't hold up their membership approval until after they reply. It's an unconditional invitation to join the group.
The common way to deal with membership conditional on a quesetionnaire is to use the pending subscription notice.

Autocorrect typo - owner address, not lender address?

In Yahoo, I seem to recall there was a field where prospective members could provide supporting information to their joining request.
Thanks in advance.

No, it¡¯s not unique to your group. I¡¯m not sure how often, or under what circumstances, those are updated and I¡¯ve never relied on them.

Anyone else having issues with their Email Delivery History for each member?
Today (Mar 9), when I checked the History for a few members, the latest delivery was Mar 7, even though we have messages for Mar 8 and today. Also, a pending member's History still shows nothing (no Pending or Welcome messages), and I've already approved her yesterday. Perhaps the History is delayed in being updated, as Shal has mentioned in his message below. No big deal - just wondering if it's unique to my group.

Thanks.

You can ?write?something in in the invite explaining ?what you ?want.?They can I think then reply. I think there was a discussion on the forums about this, you can check the archive ?though.

Integration with Google Calendar #calendar

Hi,

I'm a newbie owner and looking at the options of integration.

My group has a website that has an embedded google calendar that the public can subscribe to. We are investigating the option to move to Groups.io and part of that we have some questions regarding the groups,io calendar.

Can the groups.io calendar be automatically synced with the google calendar or the reverse where the google calendar updates the groups.io calendar?

What are the options to embed the groups.io calendar into a website for the public to view events and allow members of the public to subscribe to the calendar and only the calendar so they can integrate it with their mobile device calendars but not have accounts in the group or have any access to anything else as our group is private.

Thanks

Re: X-No-Archive header

Indeed yes; the Yahoo group did support X-No-Archive and one of our group members is disappointed that now we have migrated Groups.io doesn't support it.

Regards, Graham.

FWIW, Yahoo Groups does support it. Or at least did last time I tested
it. Which is getting to be a few years ago now...

Re: Files section #files

You can put photos in the Files section, but it's a special feature that you have to enable.? Go to Admin > Settings and scroll down to the Features section.? Under the Files area, select the check box for "Allow Photos In Files" and save your changes.

Files section #files

I have just found out that you cannot upload image files in the group Files section.

In my YG group we used to upload posters, invites to events, etc. in the Files section. This allowed us to store miscellaneous documents, in different formats (including jpg), about various events under related folders.
Since attachments were not allowed in the group, it was also an easy way to give members access to materials of temporary interest through a link to a specific folder the Files section (link was sent through the Notify Members tab).

Now I have to upload image files in Photos and other documents in Files, even if they are about the same event. Besides, there is no Notify Members tab when you upload a new file in Photos.

It would be good to have the same opportunities offered by YG Files and be allowed to upload all documents in one place, regardless of their format.

Group Name Spelling Error Correction

When I started my Group, I made a typo. ?I changed the name of the Group to correct it (I thought), but it still sends out [incorrect name]correct name; with every mail. ?How can I correct this fully???

thanks in advance

Tim

Re: Mass update of moderation status #moderation

David,

Ideally, I'd like to see the ability to (a) filter users by moderation
type, and (b) select all users from a filtered list to make changes
I'm all in favor of being able to filter and sort the Members list by all fields, not just those that have column headings. But yes, Posting Privilege is one that comes up frequently.
