Re: List member permanently moderated status
J_Catlady
This is a big problem. I helped a group with several thousand members transfer over and they wound up with the same issue. I petitioned Mark to do some sort of bulk operation to switch them all over, but he was unable to do that. I had to go through and switch everybody one by one. I would suggest to him on beta that he improve the transfer process by allowing an option to "make moderated members NuM" for an NuM group. I may already have suggested this to him, but if I did, it was not on beta. I think someone needs to suggest this. On Sat, Mar 3, 2018 at 7:52 PM, SP4149 <ken@...> wrote:

Hi Mike,
Can¡¯t you post your "subscribe to" email address on a website? The email address appears on the homepage of your group. ? Subscribe: [email protected] Frances |
Re: List member permanently moderated status
I suspect there may a difference in understanding.? Have you checked the actual settings of one of the accounts in question on the Y!G?? I was on a group where everyone was moderated until after the first post, but it was all handled manually by the owner, rather than use the available functions.? You could change everyone that is M to NuM using the Members page and the Action box, but you'd need to be sure that no one was supposed to be M for some reason.

List member permanently moderated status
All, I have transferred five lists this year; the last was the most challenging.? On the old list, new members were moderated until they had one post approved, supposedly.? Instead YG had changed hundreds of list members to Override-moderated and as such they were profiled on groups.io? None were transferred as new members moderated until approval of one post.? At this point I can just leave them permanently moderated or I can change them to default group.? I would really like to be able to moderate them the same as new members, until one approved post.? I'm helping out and was not a list member prior to the transfer, but although the list owners said new members were automatically moderated until the first approved post, that information did not show on the YG list membership or the new membership on groups.io ken "It has always seemed strange to me," said Doc. "The things we admire in men, kindness and generosity, openness, honesty, understanding and feeling are the concomitants of failure in our system. And those traits we detest, sharpness, greed, acquisitiveness, meanness, egotism and self-interest are the traits of success."? Steinbeck - Cannery Row [duplicate signature deleted by moderator] |

I kept my new group on restriction (as much as possible*) and did not permit anyone to join until the transfer was completed. I realize that advice is too late for you but perhaps the next person who has a large group to transfer will benefit. Bruce *Perhaps like you, we have public archives and there's no option to make them temporarily private. |
Bulk Download of files
Is there a facility to download multiple files within the FILES section?
What I am looking for is a similar capability to the Checkbox/ACTIONS support provided on the ADMIN > MEMBERS page. This allows actions to be taken against multiple Members. I was hoping there would be a similar Checkbox against a list of FILES, to enable multiple files to be downloaded, (or deleted?) at a time. This would be _very_ handy for backup purposes. Have I missed something? Or has such a requirement already been suggested? (I have searched but not come up with anything.) Seems odd that we can upload multiple files at a time, but only download one at a time Thanks for any advice. Brian. |
Invitations to join
Michael Buckley
Please excuse me4, but I am new to all this.
I "own" a couple of groups, how do I invite anybody to join them?? I know I can list all the emails of specific people and they will all get a specific request, but that is time consuming as each has to be individually typed. Is there not some way to just broadcast " if you want to join, go to:? Groups.io" and then a pointer to the specific group? I would also like to put this link on a web site - can I? Thanks Mike |

Also, keep messages you receive via email. |
Thank you re: Norton Issue
Thank you so much to everyone who gave advice regarding the problem I had with a Norton alert.? I am confident that the site is safe and that this was just a false alarm.? In one of the threads, I was asked for clarification about my comment that I was not able to reach "support" at groups.io.? On the main website, it is posted that for problems or questions to send an email to [email protected]? This, according to my email provider, is not a legitimate email address, so my posts were all returned as "undeliverable".
Thanks again.? I'm sure that my neighborhood will be much happier with groups.io than they have been with Yahoo. |

I have only become concerned because I already have members who have found

Transfer ?
Because
of limitations on Y!, the transfer can take some time, especially with a lot of
messages.? You might want to take a look at the thread /g/GroupManagersForum/topic/13367649 and
especially post /g/GroupManagersForum/message/5483? You
should be notified when the transfer is complete, including a report of issues
found. Duane -- Help: /static/help GMF's Wiki: /g/GroupManagersForum/wiki Search button at the top of Messages list |

Start to Finish Message Transfer
Al Silverstein
I noticed that the transfer of one of my lists from Yahoo Groups to groups.io has started.
I have not received a email indicating that the transfer took, or is taking place. It appears that all of the active memberships have been transferred. It appears that all of the files and photos have been transferred. What does not to have been completed is a transfer of all of the messages. According to the message count on the Yahoo Groups list there should be a little over 212,000 messages. On the Groups.io list there is a little over 29,000 messages. My question is how long should I wait before querying [email protected] about the missing 183,000 messages? Al |
