I just checked and it now shows 1920.? Maybe you were just lucky enough to get one every time someone dropped out?? Have you looked at the Members page to see what it says?

I have the group set up on ¡®premium¡¯ subscription which allows me 10g
storage. I have looked but can NOT find where on the site I can see
HOW MUCH of the 10g I¡¯m currently using. Can you direct me to where I
can periodically check that usage?

On the group page go to "Administration" and then click on "Billing". Images are the dark blue part of the bar. Files are the green part. Attachments open up on a separate page.

Uploading files to Groups.io #howtoguide

Hello, I am new to Groups.io and have tried to transfer our group from Yahoo with no luck.? I have been trying to upload files to the "Files" section of Groups.io and find that it will upload but when the link is clicked it attempts to go to my computer to locate the file??? How can I get the file to remain on the Server, in other words copy it to the Server from which other members of the group can access?

I did ask the Groups.io support but they referred me to this group.? I did raise this question here a week or so ago but have not found a response.

Your assistance, suggestions (be nice) would be appreciated:).? Thank you.? Lola Radnoti, from "enjoyMichaelStrongStampsgroup".

If it's Group Access, technically no one owns it.? It might say who created it, but that wouldn't really make any difference if others are adding/deleting photos.

Did you try clearing the cache on your browser?

Re: What's going on here?

Dave,

Do you mean from any email they sent, or just to the group?

Technically, to any Groups.io group.

Because I don't see where any of them sent anything to the group.

It could also happen in a reply to an invitation, but that wouldn't apply to members copied over by a group transfer.

Any email they sent to . I don't know what emails they might have sent right after the transfer, but for example, it even harvests the name from emails sent to the group owner address.

Re: Photo Album Ownership And Control #membership

We kinda have two discussions going at the same time here.I am to blame for this and my apologies.

If I open a photo, I can see who created the photo...but how do I figure out who created the enclosing album? Several of our albums are group access and a clear indication of who owns them with a date/timestamp would be very handy...especially for cleanup purposes when such people eventually leave the group.

?I know the information is being stored internally and it shouldn't be that difficult to display it. I have requested this addition in beta.

They're not updating their display name. Groups.io harvests the name in their email (if they have sent any email) and plops it into their display name if the display name was blank before.

But, also upon further research, it's only one album that has all 16 photos attributed to me. I have never uploaded a photo to either Y!G or Grio. I have never created a photo album. We did not transfer anything before did. Is it possible that the photos were linked to messages that were from one of the 23 member addresses that were transferred and are bouncing, so they get attributed to one of the co-owners?

As far as the hashtag issue, the hashtag I mentioned has one email associated. It has a hashtag in the subject line. The two ways to get to the post was either through the hashtag menu or the member activity menu. So now that I think I know how some of these hashtag categories were set up, is it possible and how to remove them. They aren't necessary and only clutter things up. I know I can restrict members from creating hashtags, which would stop new ones from inadvertently being created, but that would also stop intentional hashtag creations, which isn't something we want to do.

Yes, the email postings showed this mornings date and time as to the time of posting, but the content showed the original posting date. My point is that our transfer was 3 days ago and they are just showing up now. Is that normal as to cleaning up loose ends?

Likewise, I find it hard to believe that 3 days after the transfer, suddenly 63 members decided to update their Display Name within 20 minutes. Especially since some of them haven't been heard from in years. I understand the unsubscribing members that forgot they even were in the group, etc. but the mass updating threw me for a loop. Once again, is this normal or a bug?

Thanks. And thanks for your suggestion last week about looking into why the transfer was taking so long. It turned out to be something we could fix (photo size) and the transfer happened before the end of the second business day after we made the change.

Re: Photo Album Ownership And Control #membership

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

John,

?

The conclusion I¡¯ve come to is only a moderator or the actual owner of the album and pictures can edit them, so when no ownership of the album and pictures are indicated only the moderator can edit them. If you open any picture, down in the lower left under the picture, you will see a name indicating the owner of the picture. If you see no name, or the moderator¡¯s name, then the album will only be under the control of the moderator. The work around for getting the rightful owner of the album and pictures is like this. The moderator downloads the pictures to their computer, then sends them to the owner. The moderator then deletes the album. The owner of the pictures makes a new album, and uploads the pictures into it. There is a setting under Edit Album that allows Group Access (Any group member can add photos to this album.) or Personal Access (Only you and the moderators can add photos to this album.) , but I would think most people would pick Personal Access to their albums.

?

In my group I have many albums that have defaulted to me as the owner, and I thought this happened when the member left the group before the transfer, leaving the album with no ownership. I¡¯ve found out today that is not necessarily the case, as I have one member that lost ownership to their album, and they want it back.

Hi Don,

I see that you got no answer after 6 weeks or so. I would like to know the answer to your question. In other words, bump.

In addition I would like to know how to see who can access the Photo Albums. In Yahoo! Groups, the moderators could see the access control for any album. Where is that in Groups.io?

Regards

John Russell

Re: Photo Album Ownership And Control #membership

Actually, if you're the group owner (or a moderator with permission), you can see the settings for any album.? It will be either 'Group Access' (default) or 'Personal Access'.? If it's set to 'Personal Access', only the creator and group owners/mods can add to or delete from it.

Re: Photo Album Ownership And Control #membership

A vaguely related question:?

Photo albums on groups.io appear to be completely unlabeled as to owner and creation date. If this information is being maintained internally for access control, why is it not displayed?

I'd like to be able to follow up with some people to see if they still want to keep all the old photos that were moved by the transfer agent. I can't figure out who to contact without going back to Y!G to look it up. I suspect the situation will only get worse as new albums are created.

Thanks,
Bruce

Re: Problem with Norton

One bit of spam shows in one group and the antivirus sites flagged the entire domain. It's unfortunate when people overreact and mess up a good thing for everybody else. Hopefully the group owners here have more sense than that.
