Can I transfer a yahoo.co.uk group to groups.io?? If so what is the trick as it seems the transfer only except yahoo.com groups at this time?

Now that I am on IO I'd like to use the calendar to have these reminders automatically sent to members. Something like "Remember that applications will no longer possible after day-month" or "Remember that subscriptions to workshop close on day-month".

I'd like to have just one reminder sent to the group. But all I get are two different messages: one with the actual reminder (hashtag #cal-reminder) and, on the deadline date, a second message with the same reminder (hashtag #cal-notice).

This happens even if I don't check the options Send Invite to Group and Sent Notice when Event happens.
Is there a way to have just one reminder sent to the group?

Go to Admin->Settings and click on Member Notices at the top of the page. Create a Groups Guidelines notice. There should be a checkbox that will allow this notice to be sent once a month. I recommend that you do NOT send it as a Special Notice, so leave that unclicked unless you want to annoy some of your members.

You are only allowed to create on Group Guidelines notice, so make sure it says everything you want to say. I'm told it's also possible to send notices periodically based on the group calendar, but I haven't looked into that option yet.

Go to Admin->Settings->Spam Control. Do you have the group set to "Restricted Membership?"?

The group must be "restricted" to keep members from subscribing without your approval. Moderation applies only to messages.

They should see it. There was a recent report where someone on a tablet didn't see them, but they were there, just not visible on the same line.

I am on a laptop running Windows XP. I assume the trash can is alongside the notebook and pencil symbol (Edit?) and a pair of scissors (Move/Cut?)? I have refreshed the page and I have logged out and logged in again ... still don't see a trash can symbol. I am the owner of 2 groups and can't see a trash can on either when I view files on the Files sections.

Hi Fellow Moderators, especially refugees from Yahoo! Groups,

So far, my members are very happy with Groups.io. They like the clean
interface and the fact that attachments always come through, no matter
how you attach them to the email. It was a big issue in Yahoo Groups
(Y!G) that some would appear and some would not for those using the
digest or the website (no email). I don't want to dwell on the Y!G
problem, but it was a major driver for our group to move to Groups.io.

There is one niggle though about the way digest users access
attachments. Email users get the full attachment (unless they have set
the Advanced Option to control attachments by size), website (no email)
users see a link and that works fine, as they already logged in. By the
way, in Y!G, we had the option set so that attachments were always
stored on the website and accessed via a link. This link was coded (I
believe) so that you did not require a logon to access the attachment.
Now, it seems that you do need to login before you can see the
attachment, which worries some of my members. Then they get into - do I
need to set a password? how do I do that? loop of questions.? Yes, I
know they can use the link to set up no password access for 30 days, but
that is also confusing for them as they do not understand how it works.

I am just wondering how other ex Y!G moderators feel and if they would
like to see the same kind of access as Y!G introduced to Groups.io, so
there is a coded link and they don't need a login?

So that it's clear, you have to edit the photos to combine them, you can't just add 2 photos.

The cover photo area is 900x300.? If yours is smaller and you'd like to move it to the left a bit, you can edit it to add some extra white space on the right side.? I wanted to make mine larger, so combined 2 photos side by side to cover more area.

That's not currently possible here.? I think you have a couple of options though.? If you want to send the actual information, you can enter it as an Event in the calendar to be sent on whatever schedule you want or include it in the Group Guidelines that can be sent on the 1st of the month.? You could also use either of those to send a link to the file, if that would be more appropriate.

On your group's website click Subscription on the left, scroll down to Owner Email, switch to All Emails, Save. If you already had All Emails selected then look in your Spam.

This procedure was overwhelmingly successful. Only three members of the remaing members unsubscribed since, (although I count with a
couple more in the next few weeks).

Notice for group owners from not English speaking countries: As long as there are no international versions of groups.io I use the
#hashtag function to translate the basic terms into German. Although in Germany English is widely spoken, there are quite a good
number of people (older ones or such from the Eastern part of the country) who do not know these terms. We will also translate some
of the underlying phrases and put them into a glossary file.

group footer and the other not?

If that's the case then the one without the group footer is a copy of the message you sent, while the one with the group footer is
the copy sent back to you as a member of the group. Depending on your email interface that may be normal behavior."
