Re: Can't get to my group site

Neat.? Groups.io does a very good job of keeping it users informed.? Any chance links to this, as well as the Twitter feed, could be added to the groups.io home page?? Perhaps at the footer menu?

Re: Bug in Groups.io?

I had the same experience last night and, based on the AVG comment about "unable to verify the identity of the site" figured it was a certificate issue or something similar and (either bravely or stupidly) entered *groups.io/* as an exception in AVG and had no trouble since then. (Which I suppose means if I am wrong, I'm spreading disease....)

Paul,??I tried again this AM and CAN get to our group normally.

Re: Number of Groups.io Members

Got a new member on one of my groups about 30 minutes ago - 1,646,921.? I think a lot of the groups already existed, for setup, so the group count (now 4760 shown) isn't climbing quickly, just the member count.

Avast was blocking access to my group because of a virus. That was yesterday; today the "virus" seems to be gone. No idea what or why.

Both my group page and the status page are fine for me... I use Kaspersky Internet Security and it is usually pretty touchy, but it is OK with groups.io.

I recognize that as a quote from a post of mine, and unfortunately, it was quoted out of context. I was addressing someone who had specifically set their group to NuM. It is not the case that all new members in any group are moderated by default. It depends on the group¡¯s settings.

Re: QUESTION RE - CHANGING THE AUTO RESPONSE SETTING ON MESSAGES

The group owner has ability to disable Reply to Sender, ?but I couldn't find it in my group.settings.
We don't allow private conversations so we disable reply to sender.

Re: Can't get to my group site

Paul,

Any chance that you could tell us what is in the emails?
From the Status page:

I can't access the site because of the Norton Block and don't want to whitelist until there is a reason given for this problem.
You may have to wait a while, given that it's Friday maybe next week.

Default Group Settings

When I add new members to the group the advanced settings is set to default settings.? Default settings do not allow for people to post, so I have to pick over ride moderation even though we don't moderate posts.

I can't find where you can change the Advanced settings or default group settings.

I am very new to this group system, I ran a yahoo group for years.

Thanks!

Re: Can't get to my group site

Matt,

What if it's not wrong? What are the odds of two independent virus
groups getting it wrong at the same time?
It's more than two, and apparently pretty good. Maybe they rely on the same underlying sources.

The complaint from Microsoft Edge appears to be based on user reports. I've put in my counter-vote. Hmm... Either they've taken it down or it somehow popped up on my work machine but not my home machine. But theirs doesn't (didn't) claim a virus infection, just a "phishing threat" - Groups.io might be impersonating some other site.

Inquiring minds wanna know....
Read the beta thread. But I guess you'll have to unblock the site to do that.

FWIW neither of my machines has had any AV type warning about Groups.io, but both use Microsoft Defender, not Avast, Symantic/Norton, AVG or others.
