Re: Disable invitation text
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýShal, that?s a good idea. I?ll try this. It won?t look as messyJ Thanks Victoria ? Von: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] Im Auftrag von Shal Farley ? Victoria,
My solution is to put my text inside of horizontal lines: Salutation, I think that helps draw the eye to the change between boilerplate and custom text, sort of giving the eye permission to ignore the boilerplate. |
Re: Number of Groups.io Members
Duane,
I was looking over my groups this morning and found there was a newZowie! But the number of listed groups has only increased to 4747. So either some big unlisted groups, or an average group size of 3600 for the new ones. Or some combination more likely. Re: Disable invitation text
Victoria,
My solution is to put my text inside of horizontal lines: Salutation, In the body I put all the information and links I think they'll need to decide whether to join, and to join. Basically I treat this area as if it were the whole message and the boilerplate wasn't there. If you have any questions, let me know. Yours Myname My personal email address I think that helps draw the eye to the change between boilerplate and custom text, sort of giving the eye permission to ignore the boilerplate. Re: Obfuscated Domain in transfer message
I'd report that to [email protected] right away.? Seems like there may be a serious problem.

Re: Your group has been transfered
The subject of this group matches the title I gave my message I sent two days ago. If your message is motivated by the message I sent, then it was released to the group but I never received the email. This has happened once before where I know for sure my message was released but I never got a copy. I'm only saying this because sometimes I never know if it is Yahoo or my ISP. I get a spam digest from my ISP and never saw my message there. This must be a case where the message never came through because of my ISP. It will probably eventually make it because sometimes I get a message 5 days or longer after it was sent (by me or someone else in my YG).

Thanks for pointing out the revised instruction form. I never would have thought of rechecking to see if any changes had been made when I get ready to move my other group over. Stan On 2/22/2018 11:48 PM, Shal Farley wrote:

Re: Your group has been transfered
Ditto here for a small group of 62. We had no photos and the files transferred perfect. Now on to our larger group. Just a note on photos, I've not been able to see them or my header in Verizon/Yahoo groups for the last couple of days.? Paul, Ohio, USA

I can add a datum, too. Request to transfer sent ca. 4:30 on the 19th Transfer completed ca 21:30 on the 22nd All 143 members were transferred except one who was marked as bouncing. Files and messages were transferred. We lost about a third of our photos. I tried to download a bunch of photos earlier this week and experienced a lot of problems (http 500 server errors), so that was not surprising. All in all, I'm quite pleased. Bruce |
Obfuscated Domain in transfer message
We got transferred yesterday afternoon. Unfortunately, the transfer message that people are receiving has a server IP address instead of the groups.io domain...see below.
>> The owner of the ias-indy Yahoo Group has moved the group to Groups.io, a new Groups service. >> You have been subscribed to the new group using your email address <redacted>. The title of the >> new group is Indiana Astronomical Society, and messages can be sent to it at? >> . The group homepage is located?. This is causing some members to unsub from the group. Can anyone explain why this would happen? Bruce |

I wonder if it isn't some large groups being?transferred over. I know a few in the queue with memberships well?into the thousands.

Re: Banned members
Go to Admin > Members and select Banned from the drop down list at the top, then use the checkbox to select the person and click Unban from the Actions box below.? This won't add them back in, but will allow them to apply for membership.

Number of Groups.io Members
I was looking over my groups this morning and found there was a new member from yesterday with a posterid of 1,630,540!? Just 3 days ago, Shal mentioned seeing one just over 700k.? Looks like lots of new users are being added, fairly quickly.? Yes, it's trivia, but thought some might be interested.? If anyone else notices a sizable jump, please update this thread.

Re: Disable invitation text
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI?ll try this, thanks Duane. Victoria ? The 'fixed' text can't be changed or moved.? You could suggest on beta@ that you be allowed to move your text above the boilerplate or at least just below the "Hello [Name],". |

Re: Number of Group Members doesn't match between home page and directory
I finally found a group with few enough members, and with the discrepancy, where I could compare 1:1.? Seems that anyone that is bouncing (red or blue) or that is NC doesn't show in the Directory.
