Are PDF attachments saved in the system?

When photos are attached, I know they get put in the "Emailed Photos" album in Photos. What happens to PDF files? I can't locate them anywhere, can I'd like to see it put into FIles somewhere? The PDF in question is in /g/MILW/message/90472 . Thanks to anyone who has a good answer for me.

Re: Bouncing emails #bouncing

The system will automatically send them bounce probes every 3 or 4 days for 2 weeks. So I give them that much time. Then I typically send them an email. If that bounces I remove them, if it doesn't I send a few more bounce probes and then remove them if they don't unbounce themselves. It also depends on the reason given for the bounce. Some are things like "account doesn't exist" and those I would remove. Others are things like "mailbox full" which in theory could be fixed. Those I give more time to be dealt with.

Do you have a person willing to take over as owner? (And I strongly suggest you need two owners. Either you stay on as co-owner or look for two.)
?
Once you have people willing to do it, go to Admin, Members. Find the names and open their record by clicking. Where it says Role, open the menu. Change to Owner. Scroll down and save.
Then do the next one, if you need two more.
?
You can keep yourself as owner - just to safeguard all your work! - but you can change your subscription to receive fewer messages. Perhaps Special Notices Only - click on Subscription on your group homepage - in the menu headed Home. ?Change your delivery preference and scroll down to save.

Re: Additional New owner

I believe you can just change the status of the member to owner.

If you select "moderator" you can select individual permissions but "owner" grants everything.

An owner granted me ownership before he passed away and I'm now running his group.? I just granted ownership to others in several groups I owned as backup.? I have known of groups which have become orphaned when the owners refused to grand co-ownership then passed away and decided my groups were more important than just me.

Admin/Owner is Locked Out

I run a very small private group and was not active for several months
while I was in the nursing home with two broken arms. I come back to
make a post on the forum, and it will not post it until it is approved
by the administrator. Hey, thats me, but the administrative controls
are missing from the forum, and I never did set it up to ask for
approvals and so that is strange too. I have also had email problems, a
service that I was using also expired while I was in the nuirsing home,
and all of my "broadwaylion.com" services went down as well. Perhaps
the forum tried to check my email and got rejected. I really do want to
find a way to get back in again as administrator, or at this point even
as a user.

Thanks, for your help. Elias

Bouncing emails #bouncing

I am the owner of a group with about 180 members.
Checking to resolve or purge address that are bouncing.
I see that there are 10 addresses marked as bouncing and all of them are at nycap.rr.com (Spectrum Communication/ Time Warner Cable)
Checking to see if there are nycap.rr.com address that are not bouncing, I see three of them.
What should be done for the bouncers?

Not that I'm aware of.? You may be able to with an Enterprise group since it's somewhat customizable, but I don't know for a fact.

customise chat room title

I have tried a couple of times to initiate the chat room feature but to no avail. My members seem happy with the messages area. I can see a use for the chat room if I can change the "title" of the feature on our LH Menu to say "sale room". I think our group could use the chat room as a sale room for various things associated with what we do together. Does any facility exist to change the title of a feature within the groups IO platform ? barry.

I don't believe there's any risk of Groups.io going out of business.? Mark reported on last week that he caught Covid and was resting to recover.? Likely just a case of impatience on your part. ;>)

That could very well be. I suggest you and report it as a #bug. If all goes according to pattern, at that point Mark will offer to investigate and ask you for your group name.

Re: Cover photo -- how to size to fit

On Fri, Nov 15, 2024 at 10:24 AM, Chris Jones wrote:

I think this is built into the TinyMCE editor (which Mark did not write). At the same time, groups.io can resize photos on the fly - in both messages and album uploads - so it's hard to know what tools he has at his disposal.

This option does not exist when uploading a Cover Photo; this looks (to me anyway) as though it could be the basis of a Suggestion on beta to provide the editing capability to this function.?
I'd back the idea. In particular, it would be nice to somehow freeze the cropping tool to a 3:1 aspect ratio. Too much to ask?? :-)
