The formats of the message footers, one section for HTML and one section for Plain Text, are shown in the Members Manual.

Re: Is someone messing with edit options?
This is exactly what's been happening to me when I try to edit messages on my group for the last two days. Doesn't matter what browser I use. If I try to get into edit mode on a message four or five times and keep getting booted back to the pending messages list, I wait five minutes and try again. Usually, I can get in after waiting a bit. But it's very frustrating. It's a large and very busy group, and most messages need a little "fix-up" by the editor to get them to use the conventional terms to distinguish a query (ISO) from a response to a query or an item for sale (FS) or for free (FFPU). I like to do a bunch of messages all at the same time, and now that's taking a whole lot longer.....
?
I checked with the moderator of another large neighborhood group at Groups.io here in DC and she's having the same trouble.

Re: Settings for Message Footer links?
Duane,
I looked in that section and it only says: Remove Other Reply Optionsbut not how to include "Other Reply Options" I'd tried Separate Message Footersbut this didn't change the lack of "Other Reply Options" I can not find how to include "Other Reply Options" in the Owners manual, there are only 3 references to "Remove Other Reply Options" and no references to "All Reply Options"... Also, Admin > Preferences > Settings > Message Formatting > Message Footer: Force HTML Emailsdoesn't say that this is required to include (or anything about) "All Reply Options" I did just try "Force HTML Emails", but it didn't work on the message I just sent. (I checked on my Owner email address that sent the message and on another Member email address). Is there a time delay to take effect? The message did include an attached photo (660KB .jpg) (attachments are allowed, photos resized to a max of 1024 x 1024) Do I need to also turn off "Separate Message Footers"? Or some other thing(s)? To me, that sounds like an intermittent internet connection.? Sometimes it's difficult to remember that there's no such thing as a guaranteed connection.? I'm used to it because I'm out in the boonies and have just a small step up from dial-up, so often have to do things 2 or more times. ;>)

Re: Is someone messing with edit options?
It's happening on my iphone AND on my PC.
It's happening when logged into my group via my yahoo ID but also
on a paid group that uses another email address.
Other moderators are having the same issue and not when another moderator is on at the same time.
?
I know how to do this -- been doing it for years and it's normally no issue.
This is random.? If I have 5 posts to moderate -- maybe this happens twice and I have to retry and it works
the second or third time I hit edit.??
?
Glad if you're not having to deal with it. |

In order for those footers to be included in all messages, you need to set the Message Formatting to Force HTML Emails.? Otherwise, any plain text messages will have different footers.

Do you try to edit a pending post through the web interface or through the app?
What device are you using? A phone?

I don't have that problem. Perhaps it is your Yahoo email provider?
?
Also it just occurs to me - is there another moderator or owner who tries to take control of the message you are dealing with? Or you try to take control of a message that someone else is dealing with? There is a label in the subject line saying who has claimed the message (i.e. who got to it first and is editing it.)
?
I normally edit a pending post on my computer on the group website.
I click on the hyperlinked Subject.
Then click on Edit (blue button)
I might click on Save after editing to double-check, but then I have to repeat the previous steps.
Or I just click on Approve.

Re: Can someone help me with deleting a photo album?
I avoid such issues (mostly!) by moderating attachments. That won't suit all groups of course but if messages have to wait for approval (and then go out with a moderation note along the lines of: [Redundant image removed by moderator.] it helps get the message through.

Re: Can someone help me with deleting a photo album?
Dear Metasonix,
For over a year now, I have been in the process of one-by-one deletion of message photo attachments goong back to 2018. It is a pain. But with the new interface, easier than before, since you can go directly to delete. In lur group, it isn¡¯t so much the original posts, it¡¯s the 3-5 members of the group who consistently attach duplicates of the original photos to their replies. Grrrrrr. Originally, members just didn¡¯t know, how it worked. When advised of the situation, most have kindly cut way back. The remaining perpetrators just don¡¯t seem to get it, despite sweet beggings and stern warnings. Since it is a paid group, I would ove to consider fining them a dollar a duplicate, or similar, but their contributions to the knowledge base of the group are so important.. .
So, whenever there is a wonderful TV event, like the Olympics or SuperBowl or in the midst if a binge-watching session, I sit down to do a deletion session. Yes, I do miss some of the program, like Simone Biles floor routine, but slowly but surely getting there. I work backwards from today, as there are always new duplicates to ¡°release¡± from the album. Yesterday I deleted 20 copies of the same off-topic dog photo. Grrr. But I am now in 2021. Yeah!
You do get into a flow as you do this; if all goes well can delete a few each minute. The problem I find is when I make a mistake and end up stuck on a photo I don¡¯t want to delete, then I have to go back to some kind of starting point and work my way through to that same page. If I don¡¯t know where I was, it¡¯s a challenge.
Still IO is such a great system!?
Best wishes,,

Please note that deleting any photo from this "album" will also delete the attachment from its message. If desired, you can automate that via the "Storage Limit Reached" setting in the "Message Policies" block.?

Re: Can someone help me with deleting a photo album?
How did the member upload the huge number of photos at Emailed Photos? If attached to a message, could you delete the message to get rid of both the message and the Emailed Photos that are attached?
Just tested and it does delete the topic messages and attached photo. Frances -- Help available from Groups.io help ( /helpcenter ) and GMF wiki ( /g/GroupManagersForum/wiki ). |
Re: Can someone help me with deleting a photo album?
I don¡¯t know your group but how many *other* photos are there? Would it be possible to save those somewhere, change your prefs to Disable Photos to delete all of them (if that works), and then restore the saved ones?
