The formats of the message footers, one section for HTML and one section for Plain Text, are shown in the Members Manual.

Re: Is someone messing with edit options?

This is exactly what's been happening to me when I try to edit messages on my group for the last two days. Doesn't matter what browser I use. If I try to get into edit mode on a message four or five times and keep getting booted back to the pending messages list, I wait five minutes and try again. Usually, I can get in after waiting a bit. But it's very frustrating. It's a large and very busy group, and most messages need a little "fix-up" by the editor to get them to use the conventional terms to distinguish a query (ISO) from a response to a query or an item for sale (FS) or for free (FFPU). I like to do a bunch of messages all at the same time, and now that's taking a whole lot longer.....
?
I checked with the moderator of another large neighborhood group at Groups.io here in DC and she's having the same trouble.

What browser are you using?

Are the other moderators with the same problem using the same browser?

Re: Settings for Message Footer links?

Duane,

I looked in that section and it only says:
Remove Other Reply Options
Select this checkbox to remove links from messages on the group¡¯s website, and in digests, to reply options other than the one you selected in the Reply To list above.
but not how to include "Other Reply Options"

I'd tried
Separate Message Footers
Select this option to put the group's message footers in a separate message part in outbound email messages, rather than having the footers appended to messages. (Message parts are sections of a MIME-structured email body.)
Note: This specialized setting is useful in groups with members who use Pretty Good Privacy (PGP) encryption to sign their email messages.
but this didn't change the lack of "Other Reply Options"

I can not find how to include "Other Reply Options" in the Owners manual,
there are only 3 references to "Remove Other Reply Options"
and no references to "All Reply Options"...

Also, Admin > Preferences > Settings > Message Formatting > Message Footer:
Force HTML Emails
Make all emails HTML and remove the plain text digest option.
doesn't say that this is required to include (or anything about) "All Reply Options"

I did just try "Force HTML Emails", but it didn't work on the message I just sent.
(I checked on my Owner email address that sent the message and on another Member email address).
Is there a time delay to take effect?
The message did include an attached photo (660KB .jpg) (attachments are allowed, photos resized to a max of 1024 x 1024)
Do I need to also turn off "Separate Message Footers"?
Or some other thing(s)?

Thanks,
Michael

In order for those footers to be included in all messages, you need to set the Message Formatting to Force HTML Emails. Otherwise, any plain text messages will have different footers.

I know how to do this -- been doing it for years and it's normally no issue.
This is random. If I have 5 posts to moderate -- maybe this happens twice and I have to retry and it works
the second or third time I hit edit.

Glad if you're not having to deal with it.

To me, that sounds like an intermittent internet connection.? Sometimes it's difficult to remember that there's no such thing as a guaranteed connection.? I'm used to it because I'm out in the boonies and have just a small step up from dial-up, so often have to do things 2 or more times. ;>)

We need more information.?
Do you try to edit a pending post through the web interface or through the app?
What device are you using? A phone?
?
I don't have that problem. Perhaps it is your Yahoo email provider?
?
Also it just occurs to me - is there another moderator or owner who tries to take control of the message you are dealing with? Or you try to take control of a message that someone else is dealing with? There is a label in the subject line saying who has claimed the message (i.e. who got to it first and is editing it.)
?
I normally edit a pending post on my computer on the group website.
I click on the hyperlinked Subject.
Then click on Edit (blue button)
I might click on Save after editing to double-check, but then I have to repeat the previous steps.
Or I just click on Approve.

Disabling Photos temporarily does not delete them, and in fact won't do anything at all with Emailed Photos (which are attachments, not uploads).

Re: Can someone help me with deleting a photo album?

I avoid such issues (mostly!) by moderating attachments. That won't suit all groups of course but if messages have to wait for approval (and then go out with a moderation note along the lines of: [Redundant image removed by moderator.] it helps get the message through.

best, Malcolm.

That strikes me as really unlikely. I suspect these photo attachments have accumulated over time, and you only now noticed it.

Please note that deleting any photo from this "album" will also delete the attachment from its message. If desired, you can automate that via the "Storage Limit Reached" setting in the "Message Policies" block.?

Re: Can someone help me with deleting a photo album?

How did the member upload the huge number of photos at Emailed Photos? If attached to a message, could you delete the message to get rid of both the message and the Emailed Photos that are attached?

Just tested and it does delete the topic messages and attached photo.

I can delete the individual photos, but that would take days and days. I can't find ANY way to delete the whole album. There is no "Delete Album" button there.

The group is called tubecollectorsassociation.

Please, what do I do?
