When I try "Target = None", on saving it becomes target="None"" with the same result as?
if entered as target="None" which just becomes target="_blank" on the rendered web page.?

I suspect the code <span class="wikidisplay user-content"> is over-riding whatever Target is inserted by the editor.

Your email delivery (subscription) settings relate to receiving emails for messages that are posted to the group.? If you choose to send a message direct to a member from either your own or group owner address, they don't apply because that message isn't posted to the group.

Am I mistaken (or further losing my mind) that Mark told me that ??Send Message on the bottom of the member's pages bypasses all mail email delivery settings?
?
When sending from there one can specify whether G.io sends it via your account address or the group owner address.

Re: Links in wiki keep resetting to open in new window #bug

Hello,
I'm reviving an old topic from 2019, but this still seems to be a live bug.
?
Links in the body of Wiki pages work as Target="_blank" and open in a new browser tab, even if the editor specifies current window or the editable source code is saved as Target="_self".
?
However, no problem with links in the Sidebars and Footer, these seem to open in the same tab/window by default.
?
My group's wiki has different pages with sub-sections (rather like the GMF wiki) so I don't want new tabs opening up as the user jumps down the page.
Does anyone know a way to fix this bug?

Something isn't set up right in your email program since it's actually sending from the old address.

Error trying to send email to MY group

Steve Weyhrich

I created a group with an address that I did not intend to use, so I added my correct address, made the correct one the manager, and then deleted the original address membership. Now, for some odd reason, when I try to send a message from the new address I get an error message "Your message to ([email protected]) because the remote server is misconfigured. See technical details below for more information".?
?
At the bottom of the email message it says, "510 5.1.1 Your email address (old address), is not subscribed to this group. To subscribe, send an email to ([email protected], or visit /g/(groupname)"
?
So, even though I am sending it to our group with my email program with the new, correct address, it is somehow connecting it to the old address, and then complaining that that old address is not part of the group.?
?
I went so far as to re-add the old address to the group, but the same thing still happens.?
?
How can I resolve this problem? Thanks!

I often prefer to send from the +owner address, for anonymity. But that's neither here nor there; the OP's issue has already been addressed. We can start another topic if you want.

I don't get it... Why not simply send
the person a private email message
using your email provider's service?
(For example, using Outlook.com, or
GMail, etc.)

It doesn't need to be through Groups.io...
No big deal at all.

If leaving and re-joining is not a potential issue and it is a bug do I report the specific details in this forum?? you will mask the specific email address?

You can't do much about it.
The person should have got an email from Groups.io to unbounce themselves.?
They themselves can log into their iCloud account and see whether their group messages are in junk. If so, they should pull them out. ?Or the person can contact iCloud about them bouncing.
?
Or try to log into the group using their password or /sendloginlink
If they do, they should follow the instructions, I believe it is now two-step.

If she has actually posted messages to the group and isn't getting them back on export, that would be a bug. Please note that if she's merged accounts at any point, content posted under the abandoned account will be unavailable for download.

From Members manual:? You can download (export) copies of your contributions to any groups that you belong to, including your own messages, photos and files that you uploaded to Premium or Enterprise?group websites, and other group content.
Yes. To clarify, this is done from that member's Account page, not the group export page.

Clarification question:? Does this mean, given proper permissions, a member of?any?group can export their own message contributions but you must be a member of a premium or enterprise group in order to export photos and files OR does it mean you must be in a premium or enterprise group to download/export any of the content you have contributed?? Wording in help file is a bit unclear and might be read either way.
It doesn't mean either one. It's simply stating that - under the current pricing structure - only paid groups will have Files and Photos.
?
As a legacy Basic group, if she were to download her contributions from your group, she should also receive any files or photos that she "owns."
?
Permissions question:? I had seen something indicating there are group settings regarding member permissions to download or export messages.? I cannot find those instructions and cannot find settings for that function (admin>preferences>settings).? Where should I be looking?
If you want to allow people to download the entire message archive, there is a checkbox for that in the Message Policies block in group settings ("Allow Members to Download Archive").
?
The ability to download your own contributions is always enabled. There is no group-level permission to set.
?
Hope this helps,
Bruce

Member message export questions/ clarifications

I am a moderator and owner for two legacy free groups set up before I assumed moderator duties.? I am usually able to resolve my questions via Owners Manual or via trial and error but need a little help? for a member who wants to export the messages she has posted to the group over a couple of years.? ?The group in question does have an export option for messages but the returned zip file seems to only contain one message responding to membership questions when she joined the group.??

Re: #Question - can you push an email to someone who has chosen "No Mail" #question

The owner or moderator with permissions can disable "no mail" choice in Admin, Preferences. If that happens, any members that are currently No Mail automatically get the email status of "special notices only".?
?
If the owner uses Special Notices cautiously, ?just when it is really necessary to contact all members, it shouldn't cause too much grief for those who don't want mail and just want to read online.
?
I prefer disallowing No Mail because I want to be able to send a Special Notice very occasionally and hope that I can reach all members.

A member is having a problem in another group and said the old yahoogroups did.? So I'm assuming it may be there but I don't know how to do it.
