ABSOLUTELY report the owner and the group to [email protected] immediately. I assume you have screenshots of this behavior. You should provide them.

Actually, you would have been libeled, not slandered.? Written is libel, oral is slander.

Per the ToS, violations should be reported to [email protected] .

And the thot plickens (plot thickens). With the new information ¨C that you allege ¡°This site breaks many of the "Terms of Service" conditions.¡± - then the ?problem potentially rises to Mark¡¯s level. If the ¡®whole story is known,¡¯ the entire problem can take on a completely new texture.

?

Documentation¡is the essential item in anything like this. It looks to me like you need to be more detailed with this allegation and problem description and you need to report it via another means. This Forum is ont the place to attempt ¡®policing action¡¯ on account violations.

It was the group owner who did the posting. And not the first time. Unfortunately, there seems to be nothing I can do, which is sad because this io.groups site should really be looked into. This site breaks many of the "Terms of Service" conditions.?

Thank you anyway for your help.

Kindly,

Per the TOS page (/static/tos) you can report a group for the specific TOS violations.

It was the group owner who did the posting. And not the first time.

And while at it, there's nothing stopping you from also including the additional info about the slanderous posting in that email you'll be sending.

Cheers,
Christos

Re: Slanderous posting

Edited

To be honest, this site is so nasty that I wish not to be affiliated. I did try a while back, but I wasn't approved. It is fine. Hopefully someone will investigate this site. It takes pride in the freedom of speech to the point they use it a weapon to destroy people. Oh well. The site is called: The Colony Community 4 U, owner is Pam. This site is a mess.?

Thank you all. I shall move on.

Re: Slanderous posting

Oh. That¡¯¡¯s horrible. That makes all the difference. You could¡¯ve mentioned that in the OP.

I can only suggest you complain to Mark. Does anyone know how we do that?

I recommend writing a message to Support and seeing if Mark would be willing to take a look into this and get the group owners taken away or given to somebody else. Because any group owner that slanders a member is definitely not a good thing.

If you're not a member of the group, then there's really nothing you can do about it other than try to contact the group owner.? I doubt that Groups.io management would act on it at this point. ?Unless a verdict is rendered by a court, you're only alleging slander and I don't think that's an actionable item.

I am sorry this happened to you.

I would start with sending an email to the group-owner email address. ?

I would hope that the group owner would apologize on the group, remove the post and probably ban the member. If the group is moderated, that is more serious since it means that a person with authority and permissions has read and approved the email.

There is a help page about this, but the assumption is that you are a group member with access to the message archive.
/helpcenter/membersmanual/1/working-with-group-messages/reporting-messages-to-moderators-or-to-groups

Others may have other suggestions.?

Yes viewing the Home Page itself is fine, whether on the app/mobile browser or PC browser.
It is the FEED (on the app and mobile browser) that is buggered up. ?You couldn't view the Feef unless you were a member of our group.

I say the same; the group_help Home Page also looks as it should to me, using Desktop / Win10 / Edge.

What device / system are you using?

Chris?

It's not the alert itself, it's including live links to the phishing that causes problems.
