It almost works, but only almost. Having done some tests I have found that for (say) an album of photographs numbered 01: to some larger number to slot in an additional photo between (say) existing photos 08 and 09 then the "a" suffix has to be added to the second number, in this example 09a not 08a. The suffixed number will appear before its unsuffixed* relative. As to Margo's numbering scheme (2023challenge-week13.jpg) IMHO that is inordinately cumbersome. If the year is of relevance than is it not better to incorporate it into an Album?name? In addition the "serial number" is effectively buried in the middle of the name. I accept that it is a matter of personal?preference but numbering photos 01 to whatever looks much tidier. * I think I just invented a new word... :)? Chris? |

If you want to insert a new photo between "photo 1" and "photo 2", try naming the photo you want to insert "photo 1a".? That works for inserting photos in Windows directories and getting them in the order you want .? It might work for albums on Groups.IO, too.? ??? It might seem to be an obvious question but are the "numbers" ones that you have assigned or are they those allocated by the camera that took the photos?? If the numbers are those you have added then the only way of inserting a photo "out of sequence" is to renumber all those that are to follow it. If you have 25 photos already listed as 01 to 25 then any new addition is going to be 26 unless you do some extensive work. And yes it can be is tedious... Chris.? |

Photo sorting #bug ?

[Subject enhanced by moderator]
Hi all, ?
Is anyone else having a problem getting items to sort correctly in an album?? I have the items within an album numbered and had to add one out of sequence but can't find a way for the album to put it in sequential order.
?
I've tried clicking on Name up and down, Posted up and down and Taken up and down and nothing puts it in the correct order - just one item is out of whack.
?
I've even edited it and retyped the name to make sure there were no spaces, etc. in it to throw it out of sequence.
?
Is that a bug or am I doing something incorrectly?
?
Sincerely,
?

Bulk change status?
In a group I manage, many old time members are set as moderated due to some
changes way back when. They should really be Use Group Moderation Setting as a year or two ago I corrected things so it used the New Member Moderated for N messages and then (I think) changing to Use Group Moderation Setting. But all these old timers shouldn't be Moderated anymore. Can I do a bulk change? I see I can filter by they status, but can I make a click or two and change everyone on the list? -Ken Cameron, Member JMRI Dev Team www.jmri.org www.fingerlakeslivesteamers.org www.cnymod.com www.syracusemodelrr.org |

Possible problem in Members section?
Hi Everyone,
??? I'm not sure if anyone can help me figure out this problem, but I figured it didn't hurt to ask.
??? Every so often I go to Admin, Members, click on a member's name and check their Activity History. Because I'm checking several members at a time, I just click the "back" arrow. If I'm on page 1 of the members, there's no problem returning to previous pages. But any page beyond that, I get the alerts shown below.
??? Now, I understand the alerts are from Firefox, but what I don't understand is why page 1 is always fine, but pages 2 and up don't work? It's the same on all of my groups.
??? Thanks for any help!!
what I mean by member page numbers....this was page 3
alert #1, this shows up when I hit the back arrow
after I click "Try Again" on alert #1, alert #2 shows up, then I click "Resend" and it finally takes me back to the "Members" page
