[email protected] invalid address
#transfer
Following the instructions for Yahoo groups transfers, I sent from my new group an invite to [email protected], but when I checked the 'Sent invitations' tab I found the following reply:
Invites Processed: 1 Invites Sent: 0 The following email addresses had errors: [email protected]: Invalid email address What's wrong? Marina |
Transfer Problem
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýIn over 12 years I have not used the invitation process available in Yahoo
Groups.
?
I am having a problem, in one of my Yahoo Groups setting up the invitation
of [email protected]. Not only can I
not send an invitation to [email protected] but I cannot send an
invitation to other individuals that I would like to join one of my Yahoo
Groups.
?
Is there another way that I can invite [email protected] to join a Yahoo Group
other than the internal invite option inside Yahoo Groups..?

Messages from group hitting mailbox after hours
#issue
Messages from my test group reach my mailbox after many hours.
I sent a message via mail yesterday, it was shown in the group after a few minutes, but I received it in my mailbox only a few minutes ago. My Preferences for that group are set to 'all mails' and my general Groups.io Account is set to receive a copy of each message I send. Any idea what could be the problem? Marina |
Re: question about "promote" feature
J_Catlady
I just found this, about how to embed HTML in a FB page. Anyone know if this is correct and up-to-date?
Although??pages have a uniform look and layout, it's possible to embed custom HTML code into your?Facebook?page for a customized feel. On?Facebook, the Static FBML?app?is Facebook's official and only way to customize a page with HTML. FBML (Facebook?Markup Language) is Facebook's own proprietary, modified version of HTML, and the?app?also allows HTML code. With the FBML?app, any user can use HTML to enhance your page. ?
?Log in to your??account. Go to your page where you want to embed HTML code.Click the "Edit Page" button in the top-right corner. On the next page, click "Apps" in the left menu. Click "Browse more applications," located below the list of "Added?Apps" in the center. In the?App?search box in the left menu, type "FBML," and press "Enter." ?
Select the "Static FBML"?app?from the list of results. On the?app?info page, click "Go to?App." The "Request for Permission" page subsequently appears. Click "Allow." From the drop-down menu, select your page. Click "Done." Go back to your??page. Click "Edit Page" on the top-right of the page. Click "Apps" in the left menu. In the list of "Added?Apps," the "Static FBML"?app?will appear. ?
Click "Go to?App." Enter your desired "Box Title" in the top box. This will be the title for the tab that appears for your FBML?app?in the left menu. Enter your HTML code in the lower box entitled "FBML." Nearly all HTML tags are accepted here, so customize to your heart's content. Click "Save Changes" when complete. Go back to your?Facebook?page. In the left menu, you'll notice a link with the same title you entered previously. Click this link. You have now embedded HTML on your?Facebook?page. J |
question about "promote" feature
J_Catlady
Is there a way to use the "promote" HTML in a Facebook group? We have a FB group meant to draw people to our main groups.io group. It's not a blog or a website, so it's not evident to me how, or if, one can use the "promote" HTML text there. It would be nice to have a "subscribe" button to our main group on the FB group.

Re: How to recover a lost or abandoned Yahoo Group and transfer it to Groups.io
Harry
Yes, that is also my conclusion. It's? a shame...? Yahoo exists on the ads they run, so page views count, and by not helping to recover the Group they are abandoning lots of page views. Well, Yahoo is not known for clear thinking and good decisions and good customer support.? -Harry -----Original Message----- |
Re: How to recover a lost or abandoned Yahoo Group and transfer it to Groups.io
Years ago I was able to get myself made the owner of a list the owner had abandoned. I don¡¯t know if Yahoo even has such an email for support now. I just explained the owner had moved and no one else was a moderator.

getting to the promote group page again?
Hello to all. How if I wanted to can I get to the page where I can tweet about my group again or what not. I am actually drawing a blank here. Can someone please shove me in the right direction? Lol! If I cannot get to this page again I might put a suggestion on the beta section.

Re: starting a new group
Marina, Can anybody suggest improvements in group Beta? Yes. It is the official "suggestion box" for Groups.io You have to join it to post, but you can use your Subscription advanced preferences to follow only your topic if you want to receive any replies but not read all the rest of the topics there. Re: Managing bouncers

I didn't notice any of the mangled email addresses. It is true that many of the bouncing addresses appeared to be Yahoo addresses, but as far as I can recall they all had messages such as "no longer has an account" or words to that effect.

The cause was unclear, but I guessed that it might be some errant maintenance on Y! Whatever the reason, it might be related to the number of bouncers on groups io. Maybe not. |

Waiting until the go red makes sense to me. Problem sometimes correct themselves. (Not that often!) Best, Marv |

Victoria, if you're using an email, send it to the following email address which I will place below. If you're using the website, send it by hitting the new topic button. Assuming that you're a part of the group.
