Unfortunately, alternate languages is not an available feature. Customization of the bounce probe email with Owner-inserted text (similar to the Invite type of Member Notice) might be a good suggestion for the beta group (https://beta.groups.io/g/main).

and it is clear that most of them have no idea on their userID and Password to be logged on Group IO !! hi ....

I come from the owner manual and I see ..

The affected members are notified that they are Bouncing or Bounced. They are given a chance to ¡°unbounce¡± their accounts through a banner that is displayed at the top of the Groups.io site whenever they are logged in.

Correct. In lieu of responding to the emailed bounce probe, they can click on the red banner that appears when they log in.

! Important:?Group owners and moderators cannot do anything to ¡°unbounce¡± members¡¯ accounts. Members must address the underlying problem themselves.

question: so I can do nothing for them ? what is the function of the Bounce Probe ?,?

The bounce probe provides a means to unbounce their accounts by email, without having to log in.

As to what you can do:? You can contact them ahead of time, let them know that a bounce probe is coming, and what they need to do to respond to it. Of course, all of this assumes that you might actually have any more success emailing these people than groups.io has been experiencing.

This may not be as satisfactory as sending the probe in French, but it's certainly better than doing nothing.

Bruce

Rubens -- All anyone here can offer is their own speculation. My guess is the simple delivery is insufficient proof that there's a real human being on the other end. As an example, an email account can remain active years after someone has died. It takes system resources to continue to send messages to such dead-end accounts.

But again, that's my own opinion. If you want a real answer you'll have to ask Mark in the beta group. Better yet, post your counter-proposal as a suggestion.

Good morning Cal,

As Duane has alluded to above; repeat the entry as many times as you like and finish. Once finished head to your repeat and edit it accordingly. When you try save your edited entry it'll ask 'ONLY THIS EVENT' or 'ALL EVENTS'. Use the ONLY THIS EVENT notification.

I trust of some help?

Right. But I still don't understand why.

Right. But still, the simple fact
that I, the user, click on a link
or not, has nothing to do with my
email service having "fixed"
something or not...

So, this is hardly an argument.

(I just would like to know WHY
it's done this way)

There is no search function for calendar entries.? If an invitation has been sent, it will exist in the message archive, so you should find the information there with a message search.

2. How do I duplicate a calendar entry?
There's no automatic way.? You just have to make a new entry.? I would likely use 2 tabs in my browser to copy/paste information as needed.? There is a function to create repeating events.? There have been reports of problems with editing anything other than the first event of one that repeats, but Mark has been working on it over time and I haven't tried it lately.

Two Calendar questions

Greetings,

1. How do I search the Calendar for words that appear in event names in calendar entries?

2. How do I duplicate a calendar entry?

should be a way for the Group
Owner himself unbounce the user,
p.e. just by the act of sending
the probe and it return "message
delivered without errors".

(at least for the first attempt
made by the owner, per user).

If the user wants to leave the
group, use the option to leave
instead.

I follow up to Bruce's option. There's also a link in their subscription page, if they are bouncing, and they can click on that as well. They don't necessarily have to click on the link in the email. If you get in touch with them privately, let them know of the website and the email me a login link option. That is the only way that they will see these particular options.

Re: Calendar not consistently sending reminders #cal-reminder

A few days ago I set up the first two monthly calendar reminders for our street's group, by popular demand, to remind members when street sweeping (and ticketing) will occur.? I ran one test, which worked.? The first real reminders will go out next month.

When you say it was pointed out that the recurring feature was buggy and not recommended, it made me wonder whether that is still true and I should look for another solution.

Is the recurring feature still buggy?

Some of us (like me) have members who wish their posts to be seen only by other members. Same reason we keep our archives private rather than public.

Did you send the email from the account that you were subscribed to that group with? If you check the Activity Log for the time you sent it you may find an entry that says 'Non-member <emailaddress> attempted to send message "<subject>", via email'.

When I used to "run" some yahoo mailing lists, when I had a spammer, I did not
ban him, as that person would get a message saying he was banned and then,
often, he would rejoin the list using a different username and email address.

Instead, I put any such person on (permanent) moderation, but then I never
approved their messages. I don't think anyone that I handled that way ever
checked to see that their messages got to the list, because none ever
resubscribed.

As an aside: typically on most lists, I would not require moderation of their
first message. But, if someone violated the list rules, I would then put them
on moderation.

Re: Mysteriously disappearing messages

I'd first check the activity log to see if there's a record of it being received - or possibly rejected. Also make sure you're actually sending it from the email address that is subscribed.
