I do agree that it's a good idea to check onI've never done that, to be honest. Many members left the group when we moved over from YG, but I've done nothing to check on the present members (around 2300) ever since. However, I have disabled No Mail and I'm going to send a Special Notice with an unsubscribe link for those who want to leave. I'll lock the Special Notice and invite people who need help to contact our moderators. Is there anything else I should consider? Thank you for your help, Marina |

Members in red bouncing although bounce probe was apparently accepted
I have several members, with accounts linked to the same provider, in red bouncing status.
That provider has been blacklisting GIO for a while. I wanted to do one last test and sent a bounce probe on Dec 22. Checking under Email Delivery History for each bouncing member I found the following: Most Recent Successful Delivery Message Bounce probe Delivered Dec 22 Response <5FDB3D3E00E33A11> Mail accepted (number changes for each member) Apparently the bounce probe went through, but the member is still in red bouncing. What's the problem? Thank you for your help. Marina |
Understanding posting problem for subscriber
I have a subscriber who says they tried to post to one of my groups but the post was returned as she was not a subscriber although has been for nearly a year
They posted today and on the 21st Dec so there does not appear to be a problem at present I do not know as yet if they tried to send from an email address which is not subscribed Under her Email Delivery History Recent Bounces Oct 17 extmail.optusnet.com.au: 521 5.7.1 <*@optusnet.com.au>: Recipient address rejected: You are not allowed to send mail. Please see if you feel this is in error. (127.0.0.4) What does the above mean? (I think I understand it but would like confirmation) Under the groups activity I found no bounced or rejected posts from her name or email address just the two recent posts and then in March before that -- Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) |

Neill,
I would like to offer the "+subscribe" method to individuals who haveI assume you mean the former Yahoo group... I tested it with a friend using the syntax: ...As Duane said, that should work. But note, the person sending to the +subscribe address must receive and respond to a confirmation request sent from Groups.io. Absent their confirmation nothing else happens: no activity log entry, no Pending Member entry. If that person doesn't promptly receive the confirmation request in their Inbox, they should check their Spam folder, Junk folder, or wherever else their email service may have diverted the message. I couldn't find a relevant entry in the Help section./helpcenter/membersmanual/1/joining-groups/joining-a-group-by-email /helpcenter/membersmanual/1/joining-groups/responding-to-a-confirm-your-subscription-message /helpcenter/membersmanual/1/additional-information/standard-group-email-addresses Shal -- Help: /helpcenter More Help: /g/GroupManagersForum/wiki Even More Help: Search button at the top of Messages list |

Moderator reinstatement after spam marking
¿ªÔÆÌåÓý[Sorry if this has already been discussed.? I made an attempt to search
archives for an answer, to no avail.]
If a member is removed for marking a message as spam (or a message
was marked as such on his behalf), and does not click the reinstatement
link within 7 days, can the member or moderator reinstate or generate a
new link, or is just a new subscription?
Thanks!
