Cathy,

It sounds like you used a different email address for the new group and
right now GIO thinks you are that person. You would have to log out on the
website and log in using your original email address. Others will tell how
to change things so you only have the one address.

How does hashtag removal work?
#hashtags
Hello everyone
1. In my test group, I changed the hashtag setting so that non-existing hashtags are removed.? I clicked the "Update group" button at the bottom.? Then I sent a couple of messages with non-existing hashtags, but they don't get removed and the messages appear with clickable hashtags in the web view.? How is this feature supposed to work? 2. What I was originally trying to find out was what would happen to hashtagged words with this setting.? Will it change "help me with #ms word" to "help me with ms word" or "help me with word"?? My new group's users don't understand how hashtags work, but I really really want to use hashtags in the group, so I'm looking for strategies. Thanks Samuel |

Herb,
It looks like I can't see this member's account info (!?) so I sentYou can only see information about his subscription to your group. You do that by clicking on his address in the Members list. You cannot see a member's account information, the Account pages are available only to the account holder. It looks like UWyo is powered by Microsoft Office365, and that probably is the cause. He can check to see if the messages are being marked as spam. If he can't find them that way maybe UWyo's email tech support can help. Shal -- Help: /helpcenter More Help: /g/GroupManagersForum/wiki Even More Help: Search button at the top of Messages list |

Re: Non-subscriber receiving group posts
I'm having the problem only on my largest group, just over 1 1,000 members.
I had the suspect AOL address subscription problem a while back.? Stopped it by restricting membership, sending a question upon membership application, and deleting suspect addresses which joined before I restricted emmebrships. I figured that some subscriber or subscribers were redistributing posts.? I set AOL addresses subscribed in the last 7 months to No Mail.? Didn't work:? non-members still complained about getting group mail. Then I set ALL AOL addresses to No Mail, except those I knew personally or those set to Digest, Summary, or Special Notices. Still holding my breath, but no complaints for five days (was getting daily complaints, sent as messages to the group - Non-Members posts allowed, but mdoerated). |

Red bouncing members
#bouncedemails
A longtime member with a cogeco.ca email address has not responded to bouncing messages. She has now "turned red" and no longer receives probes from Groups.io.
She wants back in and I would like her back. Can she just log in to her account (probably by using "email me a link to login") and click on the usual message to unbounce herself?? I don't think she is very technically adept. ?I do see this in the GMF wiki -?/g/GroupManagersForum/wiki/9674 The group is a basic free group. Unrestricted but moderated.
