Re: Can a remember remove his own posts?? Not finding the answer....
Bob,
For instance, I cannot delete my messages in group mgrs (this group). If you can't, here or in any group, it is either because you aren't logged in, or are logged in with an address different than the one that posted the message in question. Look at the upper right corner of the web page. If it has buttons to Log In and Sign Up then you're not logged in. If it shows your name, hover or click there to see the email address you used when logging in. Compare that to the email address at the very bottom of the footer of any message from the group, next to the Unsubscribe link. ¿ªÔÆÌåÓýThank you, Duane. The Manual was just a bit daunting because of its huge amount of content, and I was "trying to wing it" but was unsuccessful. I have now created a few Notices and made them Active. Easy once I knew how!! Now another question which I cannot find answered in the Manual, but the problem is knowing exactly what to search for!! At the bottom of a Test message posted to our group before we add members, there is a small print Links footnote: However I would prefer to use something like the GMF has (below).? Where can this be defined, please? Obviously (??) Mute This Topic is irrelevant - or is that so a user can opt NOT to receive a certain thread of messages? Bruce Fairhall TMG-DownUnder List

Thanks, Frances. My responses to each applicant are personalized¡ªwon't work with a generic auto-send Welcome message. An auto-send Welcome message already goes out to explain group rules and guidelines.? I read those discussions. Wanted to make sure I was getting the latest info. ? g ? |

Janie, ? You have to remember that once a post is sent out into the Cyber World, you can not retrieve and delete it. Searches of your group will not find it, but it is in the e-mail accounts of all who received it. ? Just a thought, Ken ? ? From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Janie

Re: Can a remember remove his own posts?? Not finding the answer....
It's not always allowed.? For instance, I cannot delete my messages in group mgrs (this group).
It's dependent on the way the group is set up. I also cannot Edit my own messages here, in this group, once I've posted and have it approved by a moderator.. -- Bob Bellizzi |

How can I import them into the new group? There is no import function.? All you can do is go through the files you received to verify that you use the same settings on the new group.? I don't know, but at the very least, keep tabs and info somewhere so if itI agree. I have a new pending member with a strange aol account, apparently from Holland. My group is restricted and prospective members must introduce themselves to be approved, so I am not particularly worried, but I'll keep all info in case of a new invasion of fake accounts. Re: New Follow/Unfollow/Mute/Unmute button on main topics page
Bruce,
For group owners, there already exists a page to do bulk actions atAs I recall, there were two things that held this back. First was that it enabled bulk deletion of topics, which (for reasons) incurs (or incurred) a very large load on the servers. Mostly the need to clean up everything that points to those messages. Mark had some ideas to improve this, but I don't know if that ever happened. Second was that there is no "Undo". That's the "too powerful" part - make a mistake and you're stuck with it. Even support can't restore the deleted topics. Again, a substantial development effort would be required to support this. This strikes me as a parallel to that, but now you're opening it up toPresumably subscribers wouldn't have the Delete option, or any other option not normally available to subscribers. I don't *think* bulk update of Mute/Follow status would overload the servers, but I could be wrong about that. Concerns about implementation effort, or resource usage, can only really be evaluated by Mark. So I wouldn't let these concerns deter someone from suggesting it on beta.
