Photo Album Ownership And Control #membership

In Yahoo Groups the member creator of a Photo Album was also the owner, and could lock up the album so it could only be viewed by others. The owner could also unlock the album if they wanted, which would allow other members to add to it. The only other person or persons that were allowed to control the member's album was a moderator or owner. My question is; Is that they way Groups.io works in relation to Photos and Photo Albums?

Go to the ?group you want to create the sub group in. From there click the subgroups tab. If you can't find it then I think it's under?admin. Now add the subgroup you want to add.?The process is similar to the regular group.

Re: European Date Format & 24hr Clock #calendar

As an owner who is British, I too find the Month-Day-Year format very strange, the 24 hour clock is fairly common in UK and most of Europe but entering the date here is pretty standard, day-month-year, or even year-month-day, but placing the month first then the day followed by the year is what we here in UK call cack handed.

Re: European Date Format & 24hr Clock #calendar

Tim,

I know nothing about Trello, I'm afraid and not sure
where to start with it.
That's ok, you don't need to. It is just a publicly visible "to do" list, not something where users can add items.

... I would strongly recommend that EVERY date (and time) in it use
and display the international standard.
I agree, and have been advocating for the ISO 8601 standard: YYYY-MM-DD whenever the issue comes up. The hyphens are optional but I like them for readability.

If display can be user controlled, that would be the gold
standard, ...
That would be fine by me too. I'd hope for at least one 8601 variant to be included in the choices.

Exactly how do I get this on the TODO list, please?
The topic Duane cited is moderated, not locked, so one option is to reply to Mark's message where he says:
"Supporting multiple date formats is definitely on the TODO list."

Maybe some additional replies will bump this item up on the list.

Like GMF the messages are public so you can read them without joining, but (if you haven't yet) you'll need to join the beta group to post a reply (or new topic) there.

Anita,

i tried to send a email to mark but it came back. Where can I get help
on a email to someone?
If you can't resolve your issue with advice from someone here in GMF you can email to [email protected] to report a bug or other problem
with the service.

Thanks, Duane,

Whoa there.? I'm just a relatively simple user, but one not USA based, so would find it very difficult to manage with the strange date format used over there.? I know nothing about Trello, I'm afraid and not sure where to start with it.?

If Groups.io really has an international ambition - and I hope it does - I would strongly recommend that EVERY date (and time) in it use and display the international standard.? I'm cool with not using the UK DD/MM/YYY, but anything is better than the confusing US MM/DD/YYYY imho.? If display can be user controlled, that would be the gold standard, but defaulting to YYYYMMDD hhhh (or whatever the 24 hour version is) would be very workable around the globe.

Exactly how do I get this on the TODO list, please?

Problem with Incredimail formatting (was: html)

i sent a message but it did not appear. My group uses html with incredimail. Any side border is now appearing like triples and no space to write a message.
Not sure why this is happening? Can it be fixed because my members will not like this. Or is there a setting I should be using.

Anita?

Problem with Incredimail formatting (was: html)

My group uses incredimail and sends letters with graphics. I was testing this and one letter came back all disorganized and not the way it should look.
I tried it with a letter without a side border and it works. I was wondering if there is a setting I should be using or are you not supporting this?
Thanks

Anita?

Haha it just logged me in and welcomed me as a "new member of groups.io." But I can't find the list of my bug reports.... Will keep playing around with this for awhile.?

Boy, that UI is really terrible. I just found something where you can enter your email address and get a password "if you've contacted us before" and they will send instructions. I did that but there was another page with "new to groups.io?" etc. Very confusing and seems like a mess. Anyway, I just got an email back
welcoming me as someone "new to groups.io" (I've been here several years lol). Wonder what happens next...

Toby, that's very odd. I went to that link and there's a place to "sign in to groups.io" (not "sign into zendesk") - it looks like it's asking for my groups.io account. Though I was already signed into groups.io, I tried to sign in anyway, and it didn't recognize me. So this UI needs to say something besides "sign into groups.io," first off. Second, thanks, I've never heard of signing into zendesk or any of that. Can someone clue ?me in?

Re: anybody not getting cc'd back on their messages to support?

Just a note that you can login to zendesk to see your requests ->?

I forget exactly how I setup my zendesk account but I think you just create it with the same email used on groups.io.

font and font sizes

Getting email from my members and the font and font sizes are coming very small. Is there a way to set a default here?

Thanks

Re: European Date Format & 24hr Clock #calendar

As Yahoo Groups crumble in front of our eyes - two groups I belong to are having to dump and run as ever increasing parts of it stop working - there will be more and more UK & Europe people flocking to Groups.io.

I'm sure we don't mind what date and time formats are used - EXCEPT MMDDYY.? It has never made any sense to me and lots of others.

My vote and request (pretty please) is to try and change this sooner rather than later.? Could it be linked to the time zone of the user in any way, so nobody has to learn anything new?

Even better would be the adoption of the "whole world" standard YYYYMMDD (and HHMM on a 24 hour clock) - very sensible as you can sort on that field then, and it appears in strict date order.

Thanks.

Re: attaschments

Shal that would be a great thing to have here.?

Anita

Re: attaschments

Anita,

My members like to send graphics so wanted to see how I can delete
them after everyone has seen them.
For emailed images, as opposed to other types of file attachments, you can see and delete them in the "Emailed Photos" album of your group's Photos section. But individually, not as a list with checkboxes.

Not long ago I went to iogroups here and saw a list of attachments and
then I could delete them by checking the boxes. I dont see this any
more. No it was not yahoo.
Seems like a feature that ought to exist.

At the very least, the Filter on messages ought to have "has attachments" as one of the options.
