Re: Searching Members by Name and/or Email #membership

The place to search all members is under ADMIN, SUBGROUPS. Hardly logical, but there it is....

If you are the group owner or a moderator that the owner has granted access to the members list, there is. If you aren't the owner or moderator with necessary privileges, then no there isn't.?
Ok if you are an owner or mod with certain privileges in the left hand panel you will see the title Admin, click on it to access the various links.?

Searching Members by Name and/or Email #membership

There must be a way to search the full membership by name or email. Preferably both, but I can't find it. The Directory doesn't seem to be searchable. What (and where and how) am I missing...?

Re: Why no List-Post: header?

If you are using android try aquamail as well to see if that works. I don't know if that will help you any but good luck and see if that is easier in approving messages.
?
This is actually ow I approve messages when on the go for my lists.

I don't think so. Mark backed out that change, and besides I doubt it ever applied to pending notifications.

When I hit Reply, it sends to the NoReply address.
It formerly would do a Reply To and send to the moderation approval
address "HQ281stAHC+xxxxxx etc".
The Gmail app on my Android phone still works correctly - obeying the Reply-To field's +approve address rather than using the From field's noreply address. I approved Sarah's message that way.

Reply will no longer approve a message.
I think something else must have changed your email app's behavior. Or you're using a different app, or something.

Yahoo still works correctly.
Yahoo puts the -accept address in the From, avoiding sole reliance on the Reply-To field (which it also provides).

How odd. I managed to approve messages correctly via email just a few days ago.?Using my phone to do this, I saw the message that got approved end up on the list.. So so far it works over here, for now.

Take care

Re: how to find all posts by a past member?

J,

But why doesn't the search on her name or email address prefix (name
sans the domain), which are at the top of every message of hers, bring
up nothing?
I think the search is only on the message body, not any of the header fields or other metadata.

A field for filtering by email address (mods only?) and one for display name are clearly needed in the "Tools" pane.

Re: how to find all posts by a past member?

J,

I can't do "all posts by this member" because she's no longer a member
(and/or because the posts were before we moved from yahoo) - the
option doesn't come up under "More."
Works for me with a member who joined and left the Groups.io group.
Works also for me with a message that was posted in the group at Yahoo.
That is, the More menu has the "All Posts By This Member" item, and it works.

So far I haven't found a case that exactly matches your description (a post made at Yahoo by a member who left from Groups.io). So maybe that's the "secret sauce", but I'm more inclined to think that perhaps something went wrong when your group's messages were imported to Groups.io, and at least some members' messages didn't get connected to their email ID. Maybe the person changed email address at some point between the posting and the transfer?

Is there anything I can do? Is this a bug?
That may be a fair question for support: Under what conditions would the "All Posts By This Member" item be missing from a message posting, and can that be corrected.

Re: how to find all posts by a past member?

J,
Doesn't the All messaged by this member, which is in the More drop down at the end of a message perform this for you?
I just found I've posted over 700 times in our main group.? I'm rather shy.

how to find all posts by a past member?

J_Catlady

I'm trying to find all posts by a past member. I found a couple of them by searching on subjects I remembered the person had posted in, but from there I draw a blank. I can't do "all posts by this member" because she's no longer a member (and/or because the posts were before we moved from yahoo) - the option doesn't come up under "More." And a search on either her name or email address comes up blank. At ?the top of the messages by her that I found is

HerName <her-email-name@...>

yet searching on either "HerName" or "her-email-name" brings up nothing.

Is there anything I can do? Is this a bug??

Thanks.
