Re: Not receiving copies of messages as owner
I do not get the e-mail from one person when he posts to the free Group.
I had the Setting set to get messages from subscribers only. (second one on the list) The person must be a subscriber since he has been a Group member even when it was a Yahoo Group . My not getting his messages via e-mail started several months ago. His messages do appear in the Messages in the proper Topic. I only notice the problem because he has had to be Moderated several times in the past. Can non-subscribers post messages? I did not think so. I have now changed the Setting to get All e-mails. I will not know if that is the solution until the person posts again. I have all notification boxes checked. Thanks, Richard |

Re: Not receiving copies of messages as owner
Have you checked to see if the only person's messages you receive is:
A subscriber who is sending messages to groupname+owner at groups.io
Either one would be received by you but not sent to others except Moderators unless appropriate box checked by the sender.or? A non-subscriber who is sending messages to groupname+owner at groups.io Also, the message would not show up in your archive in the above cases. Also, when you reply to those singular messages do you use the reply button on the message or reply at the group or how do you reply. Some or none of this may help diagnose the issue. -- Bob Bellizzi |

embedded pictures a nd storage limits
Someone in one of my groups asked about whether embedded pictures
count toward the group storage limit? I can't see how they wouldn't but thought I'd ask. My understanding is that whether it's a separate attachment or embedded in the message it's still an attachment. The question came up because I have the group set to resize photos to either the lowest or next to lowest resolution setting to save on our group storage space. The resizing mechanism on GIO does a poor job of resizing and high res pics come out looking blurry. Smaller, low res pics come through just fine. I explained that if picture attachments fill up our storage space, we can't upload new files until some housecleaning is done, and that older pics will be automatically deleted to make room for new ones once the limit is reached. So, am I correct that an embedded photo is still like an attachment in that it counts toward storage limits for the group? Direct Add: Set default email to Full Featured Digest rather than None
Moderator SamiJo
When using Direct Add for new subscribers, is there a way to set the default to Full Featured Digest rather than No Email?
We get posts from non-subscribers, and Direct Add them when the post is approved. However, they show in the member list as No Email.? I would like to change this so they are added with Full-Featured Digest, so we do not need to remember to append that at the end of each email address. Please Advise. Thanks. |

Re: Not receiving copies of messages as owner
I have had the same problem, not receiving all messages sent, but only from one "member", AFIK.
I am the Owner. I had my messages and e-mail (a Yahoo provider) settings as Mr. McMurtry showed, except that I had set the short list to messages sent by subscribers. The one member in question has been part of the Group for many years. I now have my Setting set to receive ALL messages but only time will tell if I now get.his messages when he posts something. But it brings up the question of what is a subscriber versus not a subscriber. If only subscribers can post he must be a subscriber. Curious also is that my missing his e-mails only started 6-8 months ago, and I do not recall changing my settings. I've always been confused about subscribers versus members. The Wiki seems to use the terms interchangeably There may be several questions here. Thanks, Richard |
