Changes made to your account profile will automatically apply to each group profile, with the exception of those specific fields in each group profile that you've previously customized. After looking at the text above, it doesn't clarify if the customization will be preserved whether it was customized by the member or by a mod, so I was curious and did a quick test, and if the mod changes someone's display name or other profile setting, any changes by the member on their root GIO profile will overwrite the group profile, but if it was changed by the member themselves, it will not be overwritten ...?I learned something new today! No, you can have the same member have different settings between subgroup(s) and the main group. ?The first time you go to the main group, admin, subgroups, and add the members to a subgroup, they will inherit that subgroup's default subscription setting, which is Single if you haven't changed it. ?Then you have to go to the subgroup in order to change the member's subscription setting (using the same route, i.e. Admin-Members), not in the main group; that may be the reason you are thinking you cannot change stuff. Re: Not receiving copies of messages as owner
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýDuane, That is probably true that the site should deal with the problem, but I¡¯m still not getting copies of emails that I send from my primary email address. ? And no one seems to be able to help me find a setting to change to solve the problem.??? ? So I think I will either use the work around of sending from my second email address or using an alias as suggested by Frances.? The latter requires me to delete my second email account from my group; the first is easily implementable. ? Richard ? From: [email protected] <[email protected]> On Behalf Of Duane ? Can we see browser usage statistics?
Hello
Can group owners see which browsers are being used by group members (in aggregate)? I'm curious to see how many users who use the web-based interface are accessing it from tablets, cellphones or computers. I know I can check to see on which platforms people were who posted, but I'm curious about visits. Thanks Samuel == For posts, if the "User-Agent:" header includes "GROUPS.IO Web Poster", you can look at the "X-Originating-Platform:" header for the browser. |
