Re: Not receiving copies of messages as owner

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

I noticedthe word subscription ¡°hidden¡± in plain view (but out of my range of sight) after I wrote my email saying I couldn¡¯t find it anywhere.? But that didn¡¯t seem to help. I dug into that and couldn¡¯t find any evidence of my email being blocked or bounced or sent or anything other than received.

?

I also found something buried in the groupmanagersforum that said that Outlook blocks a senders email because it looks like a forgery of a sent email.???? I have no idea if that is true or not, but the fact that it was written on this forum has caused me to conclude that I just need to send my postings from my richard@... address and receive a copy from my RMcMurtry@... subscription/account.??? This is not a painful workaround, but there should be a more direct way of dealing with this problem of outlook.

?

That same discussion spoke about similar problems with gmail and work arounds to deal with it.

?

But I didn¡¯t see any discussion of workarounds for the blockage by outlook, other than the one I came up with.

Can we see browser usage statistics?

Hello

Can group owners see which browsers are being used by group members (in aggregate)? I'm curious to see how many users who use the web-based interface are accessing it from tablets, cellphones or computers.

I know I can check to see on which platforms people were who posted, but I'm curious about visits.

Thanks
Samuel

Richard,

If I look in Email delivery history, I see :

Message

Delivered

Response

Ok Queued as form71_2da3bec79fd07

This says that your email service received the message (Response "Ok"). So whatever caused you to believe that you didn't receive that message happened internally to your email service. It might have been diverted to your Spam folder, or otherwise misdirected, but there's not anything Groups.io can do about that.

If there were no bounces and no Unsuccessful attempts then at least your service isn't rejecting messages.

IF I click on the down arrow to the right of? my message, I get the following unintelligible options:

Those items in the More menu are things you as moderator can do to control further replies to that topic or otherwise modify the topic.

Re: Moderators not getting emails #groupowner #messages

are you sure that Outlook is causing the problem with owner sent emails being blocked by Outlook?? Is there no fix to this that can be implemented by an owner?

I suppose I will just use the workaround of doing my postings from the second email address and thereby getting the post to my owner email address along with everyone else in the group.

Seems?like it should be an option to select if it is such a well established problem.

Richard

Alan,

Below is a request to join. Note that is from an AOL address and

It could be because Verizon bought both AOL and Yahoo. They may be merging those systems.

Glad you found the actual problem though.

In the past when facing this kind of mystery I've resorted to pasting the two addresses into Notepad, one above the other on adjacent lines, to compare them letter by letter. Notepad defaults to a fixed-pitch font which makes it a lot easier to see differences involving thin letters like i and l.

You said that you clicked "always receive copies of my postings", but I bet that doesn't take effect if you are on no mail for that account.
Not sure.

I am a bit out of my depth here, but have you seen the wiki page on using Google or other calendaring with Groups.io calendar?

Plus you can make your calendar public on Groups.io.
See Settings, Features, Calendar. Two choices that allow the public to view.

Re: Calendar Display on Home Page?

Thanks for your reply!

Actually, I'd like to have the calendar public. Virtually all of our events are public and invitational.

As Duane said... no.

However, it is worth pointing out that there is a "Calendar" tab at the left - hand side of every page; is it really too much trouble for your members to use it? One click and there's the Calendar.

This has the advantage that (assuming that your group is in the public listing) you can set your group up so that the Calendar is not visible to non - members, which you and your members might prefer. If you do want non - members to be able to see it then you can set the Calendar permission accordingly.
