Looking at your email delivery history here in GMF, I see a lot of "blocked" and "server unavailable" errors. Past posts with the same complaint suggest this is typical behavior for spectrum/charter/rr...it's been reported over and over again. You could complain to Charter, as you are paying them to deliver emails to you, and they aren't holding up their end of the contract. But if you really want it to go away, your best bet is to get a gmail account or something like that.?

At least groups.io tells you what's going on. Yahoo Groups would just silently fail to deliver your stuff.

Thanks Bill.? Now that is a very helpful hint.

Re: PGO Status

Bruce,
?
Whilst grabbing the MESSAGES, FILES, PHOTOS or LINKS, PGO reports back this after the deleted content event on Monday? ...
?
"Yahoo servers appear to be offline or your IP has been temporarily locked out."
?
Now, I do believe the data is STILL THERE as YG is allowing folks to still request a DOWNLOAD before the end of January.? Just that the links are gone and not accessible via ACL permissions on the server.
?
And, like you had stated, it will grab the member listing. And more than the YG CSV limit of 1,000.
?
For non-owners and non-moderators, the member listing will only show the user name column and the email column is blank.
?
On one YG I'm a moderator on, the YG Management tool still shows the ability to manage PHOTOS for the albums.? I found this to be weird.? Almost as if YG support team missed something as the PHOTOS are now gone from our access.?

My two YGroups are now 'converted'!

Good Morning All,

This morning just now when I checked the status of my two remaining YGroups (GMF being one of them) they have now been converted and there's no longer any access to the message archives, etc. Refreshing those two pages repeatedly did not get my two groups to load any user content.

What remains is the homepage for each one now stripped down to group title, text of group's description, and the Group Email addresses. Plus there is no masthead photo, just the YG generic one. So it now seems that Yahoo's dirty deed is finally 'fate(!) accompli'. . . .

BTW, I had always found it more practical for me to read the new messages online at the YGroups' sites and since I personally do not want email replies from these remaining two YGroups forceably cluttering my inbox I will prolly unsubscribe from them in a few more days.

My appreciation to the YG/GMF for all the help it afforded me over the years. I'll of course be staying on at the GIO version here.

Or simply move all events one day earlier.

Re: Invalid request, no reverse DNS for.... Not just an Outlook problem

Ever since Mark said he increased the timeout for reverse DNS lookups I have had ZERO problems with this issue. Prior to that it was one out of 3 or 4 emails that would bounce back. I would say, for the time being anyway, this SOLVED the problem of the "no reverse DNS?error". Thank you Mark!?

Re: moderation

check only "New Users Moderated" and set "Unmoderate After" to "1 approved message".

With that method the first post that a new member sends in will be held pending your approval. If you approve that message that's all you need to do. You do not need to take a separate action to unmoderate the member, that's handled by the mechanism.

This is the minimum effort possible: a single action that is needed only if and when the new member posts a message.

Thanks, Shal, (and, of course, Duane and Frances) for your reply. Yeah, this applies to my case, as there are very many email receivers and only few mail senders in my list.

/Dirk

Re: How do I change a member into an owner?

In the GMF wiki - there is a search box at thee top of the wiki page if you cannot find it through the table of contents.
/g/GroupManagersForum/wiki/Promotion%2C-Status-or-Permissions-Change-to-Moderator-or-Owner

Be sure to read the caution in red.

Nevermind. I did find the solution. Guilty of reading the forms too quickly.

In most browsers, if you click and hold on the Back button it shows a dropdown list of previous screens, and you can then go directly to the one you want. More useful if you want to go back a long way, of course.

That Chrome application is sweet.? Exported everybody beautifully. THANK YOU!

Re: re deleting attachments

Bring up your attachment list to where you wish to start the deletes.
Copy the screen command.?
Go ahead and do the delete.?
Right click and press "Paste and Go"

Hit the Back button on your browser a couple of times.

Not Receiving Digests

Most of our members opt to receive the digest.? Starting last weekend (12/14/19) the individual mailings of posts went out as usual but the digests were not sent out that night.? As a group owner I have two subscriptions, one for individual messages and one for the digests and have just noticed this.? Has anyone else seen this?

To the extent that PGO is used as a means to migrate a group to groups.io, its status is very relevant. We have wiki entries that need to be updated on this.

As for incoming messages about how to post to a Yahoo Group, I agree with you.

PGO Status

Now that Y!G online content is gone, I'd appreciate it if someone would take their registered copy of the PGO application out for a test drive and provide a definitive answer as to what is and is not working. I suspect only the member download still functions, and perhaps not even that.

I misspoke.? If you export the Member List data, the resulting JSON file will have their "id" which can be used to go to that page directly by putting it at the end.? It will also contain their "user_id" which is the site ID and can be used to search for posts.? The records are sorted by email address within the JSON file.? The hard part is getting the data into an easily usable format.? I opened it in Firefox and was able to see the info, so could copy/paste it into a spreadsheet or something like that.
