Have you created a member notice for invitations? See?/g/GroupManagersForum/wiki/Member-Notices Make sure it is active. Then when you send an invitation, use the dropdown menu on the invite page to choose your invitation notice. This text ?will be incorporated into the standard message.? You realize that you only have a short time to do something if you wish to rescue your messages from YG.
December 14 is coming soon. The green button on the transfer page is no longer working. The notice says that no more transfers. Focus on that. Find a plan. Ask people what the best easiest way to do it is. What are your tech skills? Do you need step by step instructions? And most importantly, what do you need to rescue? Just your members' email addresses? See the FAQ #10 and #14. Or ask about that. FAQ on Moving from Yahoo Groups I also asked in another email whether you had checked to see the message on the status of your transfer. I guess nothing has happened. at first the transfer was 110? then that all changed.? then there were pay $220 and or pay $20 a month for a year for a total of $240.? ?it was there.??
so if i have to pay the $220 to transfer up front, do i get credit for the 40 i have already paid?? ?it would be nice to be able to just talk to a real person instead of this.? ? i transfered a group before you had to pay..? ?everything went fine. I just need to get it done. help Jim Allen |

First, this is a peer-to-peer help group. No owners here.
Second, isn't this your post earlier today -?/g/GroupManagersForum/message/25695 You need to pay for a year if you want to be transferred (if you are lucky). Otherwise just figure out another strategy. Get a download from Yahoo. Or use the Chrome browser, etc. etc.? In the FAQ on moving from Yahoo Groups. we resolved all of that... I am now the owner.? ?i have resubmitted the transfer request.? ?the actions taken with [email protected] being a member has all taken place.? ?you are are taking my money so fix it or tell me what is missing..

Start a test group - a free one.
You won't see Direct Add, but just about all the rest is the same.
Set it up like your real group in Settings.
Create a free Gmail or use other email account to be an applicant.
And you can see what happens.

The easy way is to use the Pending Subscription notice. This only works in Restricted Groups. It does not work for those you invite or Direct Add. Or from transfers from YG. In Admin, use the menu to go to Settings.
In Settings, go to the Member Notices button at the top of that page.

Add a notice:
Click on +New Notice - button below any notices.
Click on Notice Type - Welcome - to see the list of notices available.
Click to choose Pending ?Subscription notice you want to create or edit.
Fill in the information on the form. Put your question(s).
Click on Add Notice.?New notices you create are automatically activated (default) except for type Invite.?
But double-check that it is active (in the tick box above the notice).
This tells you what you or a moderator must do to approve the person for membership.It is sent automatically to anyone who applies for membership in a restricted group.
The notice marked "active" is the one sent; if no notice is active, none is sent.

Some groups use this notice to ask a series of questions of applicants in support of their application; responses will go to the group owner address and be recorded in the member¡¯s page under "+owner messages."
(Be sure that you are set to receive owner emails.)

I remember when YG changed the way the homepage image could be displayed to the way Groups.io does it, and personally I thought it sucked. In my group I change the photo once a month to showcase a different member (much like a magazine), and some great photos cannot be used because manipulating them to fit 900x300 pixels kind of ruins them for display. I've learned to deal with this limitation.

I am sorry you haven't been able to transfer but I guess you didn't follow instructions.?
You needed to pre-pay for a full year. Have you checked the status of your transfer? Did you ever make the transfer email address a member of your Yahoo Group? Did you promote it to moderator? You should check the status of your transfer, see what the message is. From the FAQ: How do I check the transfer status?

Transfers are queued up when you first set it up and processed in that order until you get to Step 5.?
?
At that point they are re-ordered based on when the transfer go-ahead is given and uploaded to groups.io in that order.
?
When you click on the green "Set Up New Transfer" button at bottom left of the Yahoo groups transfer page (/yahootransfer), a new page will come up where you can enter the source and destination group names.?
?
There is also a series of checkboxes for the various areas of the group to transfer (files, photos, members, messages, etc). Simply uncheck the ones you don't want before clicking the "Start New Transfer Process" button.

(a) If you've already started a transfer:

Go to the Yahoo transfer page at /yahootransfer

Select the transfer you want to check status on from "Existing Transfers" at lower right (i.e.: click on the name)

** Where N in Stage 3 is an estimate as to where you are in the queue. i.e. Your group is about 70th in the queue right now.

Stage 4 is the biggest bottleneck, as only so many groups at a time can be imported without overloading the system. There's no estimate as to how long each group takes to be imported, because each group is different (how many photos, how many messages, etc).
Groups.io is not accepting new transfer requests. Those who have paid but were unable to execute an Easy Group Transfer will issued a refund upon request. Just email Mark at [email protected] and he will refund your money and delete your group.

Why has my groups taken more than a month to transfer
I have done everything possible.? ?It is impossible to get a reply...? ? I signed up in late October to have my group OScaleModelers transfered to groups.io.? ?I chose to pay monthy.? ?Is my money not good enough.? They have take out the second payment and still nothing has been transfered.
I have another group.? OScale2railProto48modelers? it was not transfered.? ?I chose the pay first month and then downgrade..? It was a n option at the time.? ?Over a month and nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!? ? I have added the transfer as a member etc.? ?? I have returned emails to the [email protected] nothing happened ..? returned to sender.? ?? This is becoming rediculous.? ?Members of our group have donated donated money to pay for this......? ?
