Bruce, on my Mac computer, it seems to be different.

I can see the time in the top right corner for today's posts. Yesterday's posts (and all of this year) have the day, month below the below snippet but no time. For previous years, it also includes the year.
On my Mac, when I view a message on the website and hover my cursor over whatever partial date or time is shown, after a split second I see the full date and time:
e.g. on Frances' message sent about fifteen minutes ago /g/GroupManagersForum/message/25125
both my Apple Mail client and the GMF website show 12:01am as the date/time stamp,
and my hovered cursor shows "Dec 1, 2019 12:01am

Interesting though is that responding using my Apple Mail client it quotes it as sent at Nov 30. 2019 11:59 PM (see above)

In any case the full date and time is viewable.

Maybe you've disabled tooltips?

And as owner or moderator, in a message, I can see the date in the dropdown menu in View Source if I really needed to.

But I can't get any extra information.

The problem is what to do with the message archive once downloaded; as there is really no good way to re-upload it to groups.io, to re-link individual messages to their owners, or to provide online message search capability. ?It's not the same as a transfer and loses "ownership", but Lena has a way to get the messages into the archive,?

Re: Upgraded to Premium and THEN saw the notice...

Thank you Shal and Frances.

Shal, you also can't move onto Step 2, at least I wasn't able to, because the green button has been disabled to start the transfer. My guess is that has to do with the Yahoo outage.?

I'm guessing the best thing to do is see if the outage is fixed and at the same time, also be working a workaround.?

Thanks, all!

If that's all you've done, no.

Don't miss Step 2 and steps 4 through 6.
/g/GroupManagersForum/wiki/Transfer-from-Yahoo-Groups

My guess is that mark will treat Steps 2 and 3 together as initiating
the transfer, if only because Step 4 requires Groups.io to take a manual
step (solve a Captcha) to accept the invitation.

But only Groups.io can give a definitive answer.

Can a database with images be exported and the images show up in the exported file?
Charles -- I believe the answer is "no." Exporting as CSV definitely won't work. I have exported such databases as json objects and attempted to import them into Excel, without success. It seems that the export function fails to escape the images into unicode, and the resulting file I'm getting is too small to even possibly contain the images.

If others have done a more rigorous check and met with more success I'd love to hear about it.?

No, not even as a link. Photo URLs are not static. You have to download it from photos and re-upload it to the database.

When you send a message as owner/moderator, it's not saved on the site (yet?), so BCC is the only way to have a copy.? (Unless the person sends it back as part of a reply.)

Try setting a Display Width for those two columns, and those two columns only. The value is in pixels.?Note, however, that this approach might not play nicely with some display resolutions, particularly on mobile. For that reason I normally suggest leaving Display Width at the default of zero, but for this application it might be just what the doctor ordered.?

Mark hasn't decided on a "hard" date for initiation, only no promises after Dec 1.? From what I've seen him do in the last 5 years, I expect he's going to do everything he can to get as many groups transferred as possible.? He has clearly stated that if you upgrade to Premium and he's unable to do the transfer, he'll gladly refund your money and delete your group for you.

Re: Unable to transfer old Yahoo group

Terri,

Oh brother. so Shal could have a point, they could be overloading
Yahoo's servers and getting in Mark's way.
That was actually Duane's comment, not mine.

I'm not certain that Yahoo does rate limiting by group, in the past it has always been access from a given IP address that gets limited, regardless of how many groups that address was accessing. Rate limiting by group would be problematic, especially back when some groups had hundreds of thousands of active members.

On the other hand, most of what I "know" about Yahoo's internal workings dates from Classic groups - the team that put Neo in place has been much more opaque about the inner workings.

I'm not going to discourage anyone from trying to capture content before it is removed.

Never assume! Yes, join Beta and get all messages. Later, you can tweak your subscription.

Re: Are messages to members saved?

When using the "Send message" function to email a member about a pending post, is the message saved somewhere? I have looked but can't find them. (Of course, this is if it was not BCCed to mods) The "+owner messages" tab on the member's profile does not show anything. Are these messages FROM the member to?+owner?
Not sure exactly what you mean.??Have you checked out Admin, Activity?
If you mean you clicked on reply in the web interface and then made it private, there is an option to check off "BCC me".
If you were rejecting a message and explained why, you will see the reason in Activity.
You asked about +owner messages. Go to your own profile in Members (select moderators) and you can see +owner messages from you.?

Thanks -?
Admin-Activity - I checked all the tabs but none have the message. Just if a message was rejected. But no "send message" from the pending page.
I did not BBC although I should have, which is why I am trying to find the message and know if/where to find them in future. Having them accessible on the web is better than lost in my emails.?
On my own profile, I do not see those kind of messages in any of the tabs either.

Re: Unable to transfer old Yahoo group

I don't know how they archive anything at this point since it's impossible to read messages.? Do we really need their help?? We're all saving our own groups.? ?If this outage is due to their "help," they're doing more harm.? I hope Yaoho can come back long enough for people to get their groups moved here.

Thanks, Frances.

Re: Are messages to members saved?

Niman,

When using the "Send message" function to email a member about a
pending post, is the message saved somewhere?
No.

Hence the Bcc checkboxes so that you can save it yourself.

The "+owner messages" tab on the member's profile ... Are these
messages FROM the member to +owner?
Correct.

There was discussion long ago in beta about adding messages from +owner to this tab, or having a more general list of messages to/from the +owner address. That was never acted on.

A volunteer organization.

Their home page says:?Archive Team is a loose collective of rogue archivists, programmers, writers and loudmouths dedicated to saving our digital heritage.
