Re: Rejected message due to classification as SpamVirusHigh bulk ratio or High-riskReference ID

I am not a techie so not sure. However I had to do a lot to your email before approving it. It was all formatted and also had the fluttering butterflies. I suggest you change your email formatting when you email groups such as this. Just regular normally works fine!

Re: Comcast issue

As well with Outlook recently, I am getting messages sent to spam.?? This had stopped for a long time, but has begun again.

All of Shal's messages through GMF they have started going to spam.? Of course having been here coming up on 2 years, I know to move those to the inbox before deleting.

Comcast (as well as Outlook) has an annoying habit of delaying emails from groups.io on a regular basis, but they usually show up in a day or so.? Do any of them ever show up for you?? Have you checked you email history on that group to see if they're being bounced?

How to view requirements

?
Hi,
?
As a group owner can you tell me how I can view the required responses to questions asked by the moderator before I approve a pending member? For instance I ask 3 questions Name, Location and reason for joining.?
From my previous Yahoo Group site responses would be in the email I receive requesting membership.
?
Thank you,

Indeed I do; I was just offering it as a possible explanation of why things happen here the way they do.

It certainly does look like that. I wonder how many actually come to the GMF web UI and have a look around and how many just fire off an email.
Chris -- I believe you know from your own experience that many folks don't use the web interface at all.

Repeat questions are unavoidable, but at least we can subsequently refer newbies to the wiki, where most of the canned responses lie.

No. As I said previously, you have to contact support to make such changes after you're already queued up for import.

Suzanne -- You have to click the green "Start Group Transfer Process" button. Once you actually have a transfer initiated and are at the "invite the transfer agent" step, at that point the screen will refresh and you'll see the extra opt-out checkbox.

Re: White-listing a group

I added [email protected]?to the Safe List for Comcast and suddenly I received no emails at all.
I clearly reversed the setting.

So as an owner of one group and a member of half-a-dozen others, a new phenomenon just appeared. One of those groups just transferred over to Groups.io within the past couple weeks and ALL of the emails coming from that group are being marked as junk/spam by Comcast. NONE of the other groups have had email marked as spam except for a couple rogue messages that had questionable text within them. I went to the Comcast UI and created a rule that is supposed to direct anything from '@groups.io' to the Inbox. I just now did that, so I don't know how well it works, but that seemed kind of a clunky way to 'white-list' GIO, but I couldn't find anything better searching the COmcast site.I regularly check my junk folder for strays, but to have to do it for every email from one particular group will be a pain.

Any ideas for a better way?

It's not the "wiki on IO" but the "wiki on GMF" (i.e. the wiki on the GroupManagersForum group).

The GMF wiki pages:
/g/GroupManagersForum/wiki/home

And you can also search the other wiki pages that are not linked to from that wiki home page, by using the Search field at the top.

In addition, the official help pages are here:
/static/help
(not affiliated with GMF)

The GMF wiki can be found at?/g/GroupManagersForum/wiki/home.

Lots of useful information there, so click to your heart's content!

If you have both messages coming to your inbox, your email provider may have filtered it out as a dupe. To be sure that the post actually arrived, look in your online message archive.

The wiki page has been amended to match the current wording.

I don't use Comcast myself, but googling for this problem suggests that
adding the group's address to your address book can also do a lot of good.

It creates and stores separate sessions in the browser, which can be accessed by clicking the extension's icon. It looks like one can also keep two sessions open simultaneously in two tabs, and switch between them without having to log in and out all the time.

Does anyone know of other extensions that does this?
