Yes, but that doesn't put them on a Banned list. If a group owner wants to ban an individual just letting their application expire doesn't achieve that.

Banning an individual is never going to be easy if it is based on an email address. Just takes a new email address to get around the "ban".

That was likely added by someone's email client/program when they received it.? When they replied, it was included.? Information on merging topics is at /g/GroupManagersForum/wiki/How-To-Merge-Threads

We are finding people who were permanently banned from our Yahoo list are now applying to join the groups.io list.
If you have a list of those people, you can ban them before they apply. Admin > Members, select the Banned view, enter an email address in the bottom box and click Ban User.
The original question was:
They know they were banned [at our YahooGroups group]. Is it possible to delete their pending request without notifying them?

So, if you 'pre-ban' on your Groups.io group, will they get any kind of response (and what will it be) if they apply to join?

Another option to do with the messages is pretty simple if you are familiar with HTML and can do a tiny bit of PHP or can configure Apache
  1. Using PGO, export all the messages to a series of pages with, say, 50 or 100 messages per page.
  2. Create a top page with links to all the others.
  3. Using PHP or Apache to set up server-side includes for all these pages. The includes provide a top banner, a means to jump to any other page, and Google Custom Search, set up to search just this.
  4. Store the attachments, files, and photos in directories such that the message links all work.
This gives you a complete website of your Yahoo group archive.

From what I have read the only time a state can opt to stay on is Standard Time. Staying on Daylight Savings Time requires the U.S. Congress to pass a law allowing that and Congress hasn't done anything for years.

Another bubble bursted!?Disappointing.?Our local 5pm news reported last Saturday it was the "last time" we would have to change our clocks. Guess I heard what my brain wanted to hear.?

I have no firm feelings which time zone we stay in, either one or the other. Just not this twice a year switching.?There's another push in FL now to keep us on Standard Time but that's not as popular.?Like you said, it's a wait and see game.?

I did steps to merge. Does it take time? I tried to add the old mail as my alias after merging I¡¯m still getting an error saying there¡¯s already an account but when I go to log into it. ( witch I had done just a few mins ago) it says no account ? Confused. I did log in to my primary email after the secondary ( read yahoo address) was merged. ?But got no email link

See /g/GroupManagersForum/wiki/Status-Badges-in-the-Members-List? Sometimes people make a typo when entering their email address, so these will never be able to confirm.? I usually send a second Conformation request after a couple of days.? If that also gets no response, I delete the member.

A new member has a pinkish "NC", "Not Confirmed" by the name. What does it mean and how is it corrected? The only thing that was different is that the member had sent in two responses to the address request for the restricted group Edgewater Freecycle.

Now that I have moved a couple of groups from Yahoo to G.IO as people are calling it, has anyone seen a "Dummy's guide" for those who are "technology challenged" in my groups?? I know that the group help is very good, and I am pointing people there, but still thought I would ask.

While it may look attractive to pay the extra $200 for expedited transfer, I can't help but feel this is similar to 'priority boarding' at airports.
If we all paid the $200, the process would work at exactly the same speed and no-one would get their transfer done any faster.
I'm happy to be at stage 3, knowing that the content of the Y! group has been downloaded and is safe. I can wait for the IO group to be up and running.

From what you've said, I assume that this works like the old-fashioned Mail Merge in word processing programs (a la Word Perfect). ?That is, that it takes each email address in turn and mails out the invite to that single address, then goes to the next one in the list, and does the same. ?Hence, no one see any email addresses save their own.
