Another bubble bursted!?Disappointing.?Our local 5pm news reported last Saturday it was the "last time" we would have to change our clocks. Guess I heard what my brain wanted to hear.?

I have no firm feelings which time zone we stay in, either one or the other. Just not this twice a year switching.?There's another push in FL now to keep us on Standard Time but that's not as popular.?Like you said, it's a wait and see game.?

Our group has a need to post graphic files that are then used by our local chapters in their newsletters and promotional materials.?
When uploaded into the the FILES area, the default image view is List with displayed properties of size, person uploading and date uploaded. I don't see an option to view them as thumbnails or albums.?
The attached screenshots are from my iPad. One shows the editing options available to me under my Moderator login and the other screenshot shows the view seen under my Member login.?

Hello GMF

I'm new to Groups IO and only a user (not a group manager).

I'd like to know if it is only the group managers who can set up "chat" as when I click on it, there are very few options and no apparent way to get it started.

The Help pages seem empty too on the subject.

Yes, but that doesn't put them on a Banned list. If a group owner wants to ban an individual just letting their application expire doesn't achieve that.

No; they are in the apparently white space below the block of text. Place your cursor after enabled; then "left click+hold" and drag down to highlight the area between enabled and the link to the Group Document Archive and all will be revealed.

Duane obviously knew the answer anyway; white font text on a white background. :)

The question is does Search Optimisation warrant a section in the GMF wiki?

FWIW I do not know how long the search string can be; I have tried 10 words with 66 characters including spaces and it found them all. It's something I will ask Mark when some measure of calm has been restored. The search is not case - sensitive but doesn't seem to find partial matches; perhaps it actively ignores them.

I see some of my members have a little photo of themselves added to their listing in the Directory.? Where do you go to add that?? I cannot find the spot to add an image.? Thanks.

PG Offline does not download all information, though. It only downloads enough information to store the mails in its own format. PG Offline is not primarily meant to be a downloader but rather a viewer. The mails are stored in a format that allows them to be viewed in PG Offline.

You can't export to MBOX-like EML format from PG Offline. The only human viewable formats that you can export mail to in PG Offline are HTML and pipe-delimited TXT.

PG Offline does not download all header information, though. It only downloads what it needs to be able to view the mails in PG Offline itself. The idea is that you should be using PG Offline as a viewer.

You can export some of the mails to e.g. HTML or a delimited TXT format, but those exports contain only what information PG Offline has saved.

So far I haven't been able to figure out exactly how PG Offline's message storage works -- in some of my tests, all messages disappeared after they were previously downloaded, so I must have done *something* which I should not have.

This feature has been requested already. Some time ago I requested notifications for file and photo and database uploads, and as far as I know I wasn?t the only one. Yahoo hat this feature by default.

Asking members to think about this would need constant reminders or some sticky notification in the message part, and I doubt very much that this will be read or considered by all.

I hope it?s on Mark?s to-do-list. If not we could request this again next year.

When you have a member pending approval, your choices are: Approve, Reject, Claim, Send Message, or Ban

If you select Ban, then the person is added to your list of Banned people, removed from your list of Pending Approvals, and they do not receive any message.

One of my groups has over 200,000 messages.? So PG Offline doesn't sound like a very practical choice unless I'm missing something.

It isn't clear from your posts as to what is on Yahoo. It could be that there are actually 150 messages that contained eml files within them and another transfer would just do the same thing.

eml files are a format for saving emails to files. You can view eml files with a text editor to see the text in the email. Your description of emails within messages is a legitimate way to send an email within another email message.
