Well the keywords show in the directory of publicly listed groups, but not on their homepage.

This is the description in the directory:

enabled.R Other Keywords: WWII WW2 WS19 WS22 WS31 WS62 WS76 R109 Larkspur Clansman Harness C11 C13 C42 R209 R210 Creed Teleprinter T100 VRC321 PRC320 VRC353 PRC351 PRC352 EMER EMERs

Are you saying it is UNDER the photo or ?

Re: Growing a group #promotion

I am the mod of future_tech. I recruited my initial members from friends and a post in the-tech-zone (which allows post advertising related groups). I also made a few posts in related communities on Google+. I'll probably spend some more time later looking for related communities in which a link to the group would not be seen as spam. Does anyone else have any thoughts on how I can grow the community?
Have you looked at the Promote page in Admin?

Just like it is on a lot of web sites, white letters on a white background (or black on black, green on green, etc.)? When you use your mouse to highlight the page, the hidden stuff pops out.

I'm waiting too. They probably have a ton to transfer. Hopefully we hear from them soon.

Gina -- If you had used the Easy Group Transfer mechanism, they would note be "pending." But I understand why this might not work for you...for any number of reasons.

I've read ALL the help.

How do I approve them?? (Not one by one, I hope; there's almost 1000!)

Go to Admin>Members. If necessary (and it probably won't be), pull down the blue menu at upper left and select "Pending Approval."

Click the box to the left of the "Display Name" table heading to select everyone on the page. Scroll down to the "Actions" menu and select "Approve."

Repeat for each screen-full of pending subscriptions. If you want to increase the number per page, go to?/account?page=prefs?and change "Items Per Page" to 100.

Hope this helps,
Bruce

If you want to swap group names, you'll have to do it as follows:

Rename group aaa to xxx
Rename group bbb to aaa
Rename group xxx to bbb

Then go through both groups and clean up things according to the instructions on affected content at?/g/GroupManagersForum/wiki/Renaming-a-Group

Hope this helps,

Re: $ Question

No, to get GIO to do it, the charge is $220 (the first year "premium").?? If you want to expedite the transfer (which they seem to handle very quickly), then the charge is an extra $200.?

I should point out that it seems once you request the basic transfer and the invite from Yahoo to the GIO is accepted by GIO, the EXPORT out of Yahoo is done fairly quickly in a few days.? What most of us in the queue are waiting for (in "Stage 3") is IMPORT into GIO.? But at this stage you can rest more easily that your messages and content (at least the past 10 years of messages ) have been rescued out of Yahoo and are with GIO so the December 14th cutoff date would no longer apply.??? I am taking the extra step of capturing all of my messages with the PG Offline 4 program (for $24.95).? This program only writes out SQLite and MYSQL format files.? Microsoft Access can read MYSQL.? I have to analyze where SQLite can go.??

Help! Never heard back after sending invitation email.

Hi,

I am trying to move a large (5,000 member), 20 year old neighborhood yahoogroup (adamsmorgan) to groups.io

I believe I followed the instructions...upgraded to premium then began the process.

I invited the required email address to be a member, but never got the ¡°invitation accepted, make it a moderator¡± email. I waited and waited, but heard nothing. I tried again, still nothing.

What can/should I do? Very, very frustrated!

Re: Anything like yahoo links functionality? #howto #messages #links #featurerequest

I set up the links in the Database section.??? You create a separate "table" for links within the database and then specify the columns of the table.??? I have several columns:? link_url, description, comments, date (when originally set up), suggester....
