Re: Yahoogroups claims I have no data???
Ruth D,
... it occurred to me that I don't think it asked which of theIt doesn't ask. It gives you a download of all the groups it finds for you. However it decides that. So will all the groups data come in together? My download (from an alternate account) finally came in today. It was a zip file containing folders for the seven groups that account was a member of. Unfortunately for Susan and my email address theory, and consistent with Gerald's logical assumption, those seven were all of the groups in that account's Manage My Groups, without regard to the selected Email for each. So I guess I can anticipate getting another "no data" result for the other account's fifty memberships (wow, I didn't remember having that many). Re: Yahoogroups claims I have no data???
Susan,
Please let me know what happens. We shall see. I went into Manage My Groups and flipped the Email ID for (almost) all my memberships to use the Yahoo Mail address associated with that account (which I had activated a couple years ago, for unrelated reasons). The couple that had no Yahoo Profile selected I selected the primary profile for that account. I decided that would be easier than trying to -subscribe or Invite the Yahoo Mail address to each group. Most are dormant so I don't expect to lose many messages into Yahoo Mail. The couple that are still active I did Invite anew. Then I re-submitted the data request. So now I wait. I was unable to add the email address I use for groups to the list ofYou should be able to do that through the Account Recovery address list in your Account page. For your use, you'll then want to use the Membership Wizard to transfer those memberships into your account, if they don't show in Manage My Groups. OK, I believe you are saying you went to:Admin > Members Used the "Members, Moderators, Pending Approval, Bouncing, Banned" dropdown menu and selected "Moderators" And that you see that member listed there. (That means they are an Owner or Moderator. ?
But you still can't see their badge. It is probably hidden behind the "Delivery" column. ?
Try horizontally 'stretching' your browser window, or reducing (or magnifying) your browser window ?
On a Mac, I use the 'Command' and '-' or '+' keys at the same time. Each time I push them both at the same time everything in my current browser window is made smaller or larger. If you have a PC, I think you use the 'Control' and '-' or '+' keys at the same time. ?
You can also click on any member's row (not the check box) and see what Role they have. ?
?
I just read that you may be on an iPad, this works on my iPhone:Use the "More" menu at the bottom right of the screen (of your Groups.io group) Tap on "Members" Use the "Members, Moderators, Pending Approval, Bouncing, Banned" dropdown menu and selected "Moderators" And that you see that member listed there. (That means they are an Owner or Moderator. ?
You can also click on any member's row (not the check box) and see what Role they have.?
Try turning your mobile device from Portrait to Landscape mode (rotate it so the screen is wider than tall).?
I don't know but for iPad, you may have to be in a 'desktop' rather than mobile mode to see it. You may have to do a Google search to find out how to do that. ?

GMF is busy busy!
Well, I just looked at GMF homepage and today, November 4th, the stats are amazing and a bit alarming!
GMF had 2,789 messages in October. November - 638 ?(and that's just in 4 days!) And it ain't over yet! Much appreciate it when members chime in to help. Thank you! Frances -- FAQ on Moving from YahooGroups GMF Wiki: (unofficial) Help for members (and would-be members) and group managers |
Re: Donations - Where is the Money
#donations
I don't have any experience with accepting donations from members, or what percentage companies charge for transaction services. What I do understand is a cost to benefit. If a Premium group costs $210.00 per year, and there are 200 to 300 members willing to donate between $10.00 to $50.00 per year minus 5% , I think it's more than worth it.?

Re: Need some help new here
I believe you said you were using an iPad.?
If you have pinched to zoom, you might not be able to see it. Try 2 finger scrolling to see if there is anything off the edge. I looked at the screenshots you sent to the mods.? It could also be a hiccup and you should try to change your member's status again. Re: Need some help new here
Go to:
Admin > Members Use the "Members, Moderators, Pending Approval, Bouncing, Banned" dropdown menu to select "Moderators" you should see all Moderators and Owner there. I just promoted one of my other email address to Owner and also could not see the Owner badge, but when I horizontally 'stretched' my browser window, or reduced (or magnified) my browser window I was able to see the Owner badge. |
Re: Need some help new here
Please go to Admin, Members and see how many email addresses are there.
You said you have 3 members. Including yourself?? Then there should only be 3 email addresses there. Perhaps your member has two email addresses in your group. Or perhaps you have two email addresses in your group. I asked whether you are still owner, because if you promote someone to owner, they can remove your ownership. Re: Need some help new here
So you logged in (owner) and you made a member an owner too. You saved the change.
But there is no badge showing that this other member is an owner? Or is your owner "badge" missing? Frances -- FAQ on Moving from YahooGroups GMF Wiki: (unofficial) Help for members (and would-be members) and group managers |
