I'm in the same boat.? I've followed the instructions carefully and attempted the transfer three times.? I'm at the point of entering the?[email protected]??to the yahoogroup, then waiting.? I've done this twice, waiting about 12 hours between attempts.? On the third attempt the yahoo page has given me this message:

• EMAIL/YAHOO ID
  STATUS
• [email protected]
  User does not want to be invited

What is it that I'm not doing correctly?? Please help.

I had a question and couldn't find it easily by searching. ?We sent out a large number of invitations to our organization's members today to start up discussions on groups.io. ?A small number of those invited members with the same email addresses/accounts are instead finding our groups.io page and hitting apply to join. ?I was surprised that it doesn't automatically recognize their email as an invited member. ?Is there a setting I missed in the invites? ?Or is that just how it works?

Harvey -- For Premium groups, you first have to create a Database with a defined column of type "address." After populating the table, users should then be able to toggle between text and map views. Hopefully others can speak to how effective this view might be for addresses outside of the US.?

You don't.? When you create a database with an address field, a map will be automatically linked for that location.? I know that you can choose whether text or map is the default view.? I'm not familiar with the other details though as I have free groups.

Hello all,

I'm in the process of trying to transfer an old Yahoo! Group to a new group.io group I've created.? I've read the instructions multiple times and have initiated the process from the groups.io side.? My issue is with the Yahoo side.? I've logged into the Yahoo! group I'm trying to transfer (I have moderator privileges) and have attempted to send an invitation to [email protected].?? However, Yahoo does NOT accept the address and returns the message 'User does not want to be invited'.(see attached screenshot)

Has anyone else encountered this error?? Is there something I'm missing here?? Any suggestions on why this is happening and how to overcome it?

This is the first time I've heard of this one.? I wonder if it has something to do with the changes they made today to disable uploads?? Anyone else at the invite stage that can verify?

Thanks for your quick response Frances, but the answer I'm looking for is just for the initial signup experience.

I'm looking for something like "less than 10 minutes", or "about an hour or so".....I need to know how much time I must alot to spend at the computer for THAT first session.

It's actually "Create Hashtag," and it's the blue button at the very bottom of the hashtags page.

If you are a Moderator (not an Owner), you must be given the "Create/Delete Hashtags" permission to do this.

The time varies for migration, partially depending on YG. You need to sit at your computer! You do have to watch out for making the transfer email address a moderator at your YahooGroup.?
