Re: transfer not progressing
I'm in the same boat.? I've followed the instructions carefully and attempted the transfer three times.? I'm at the point of entering the?[email protected]??to the yahoogroup, then waiting.? I've done this twice, waiting about 12 hours between attempts.? On the third attempt the yahoo page has given me this message:

Invites vs Applying to Join
I had a question and couldn't find it easily by searching. ?We sent out a large number of invitations to our organization's members today to start up discussions on groups.io. ?A small number of those invited members with the same email addresses/accounts are instead finding our groups.io page and hitting apply to join. ?I was surprised that it doesn't automatically recognize their email as an invited member. ?Is there a setting I missed in the invites? ?Or is that just how it works?
Thanks! Linda |

Apparently this is now happening to others, /g/GroupManagersForum/topic/39105930, so probably related to their changes.

Creating a database map view
After searching high and low at groups.io, I'm been unable to find anything on how to create maps.? If someone could point me to instructions or lay out how to do it, I would be most grateful. Why a map in our case?? [email protected] is a Yahoo refugee group composed mostly of Americans who want to live in France or already do.? A map showing where our members live around the world and France would be nice. Yes, we are at the Premium level. Harvey ? J¡¯ai remarqu¨¦ que rien que je n¡¯ai jamais dit m¡¯a fait aucun mal. ? Re: How long does signup take?
Thanks for your quick response Frances, but the answer I'm looking for is just for the initial signup experience.
I'm looking for something like "less than 10 minutes", or "about an hour or so".....I need to know how much time I must alot to spend at the computer for THAT first session. Tks, Chuck, CABGx3 |

Re: How long does signup take?
Considerably longer!? The setting up of your group and getting it approved might take a couple of hours.? After you set up the group, you have to invite [email protected] to be a moderator; it took them 3 days to accept my invitation.? Then you are queued up to do the migration. I am number 507 in line, yesterday I was number 519.? So, it's moving quite slowly.? ?I'm thinking 10 days at this rate.? People who pay to have it expedited have reported that it only takes a matter of minutes to migrate after the invitation is accepted.?? Because the functions of Yahoo are going away today, I added my members to the new group and it is up and running.? It's not as smooth as just migrating the whole thing, but it's working and people are using it.? We only have 650 members, so it wasn't such a big task. Good Luck, Sarah? Question about creating hashtags

Hi all,
According to the Wiki, I should be able to pre-create a hashtag on the "Hashtags" page in the group, by selecting the "Hashtag" section from the side menu and then clicking a "create new hashtag" button. Unfortunately, I do not see a "create new hashtag" button. Is this problem occurring for anyone else? Am I missing some permissions from the admin? Re: How long does signup take?
Hi
I am one of the volunteer moderators here at GMF. No staff here! The time varies for migration, partially depending on YG. You need to sit at your computer! You do have to watch out for making the transfer email address a moderator at your YahooGroup.? See the FAQ we developed to help. And links to the instructions, the official ones and help we wrote. /g/GroupManagersForum/wiki/FAQ-on-Moving-from-Yahoo-Groups Pay for premium. Then start the transfer. There have been posts as well about how many days it is taking. Of course, you can also pay a bit extra and get expedited. See the FAQ link above. Sign up though is quick. Set up your group - and your settings.? /g/GroupManagersForum/wiki/Quick-Start-for-Group-Formation Frances -- FAQ on Moving from YahooGroups GMF Wiki: (unofficial) Help for members (and would-be members) and group managers |
Re: Umm... your pay by credit card screen looks very insecure :/
This is a user-to-user group.? No one from Groups.io monitors it.? For questions like this you'd need to contact [email protected]
