I see now that the Groups.io "Reply to" links in the message footer do what they're supposed to do. The bug in TB 60.x is a separate issue and it's not really a problem given the other Reply features that are available. I regularly use that trick of highlighting the text that I want included in my reply, but sometimes the text needs major surgery and that's when I start with the whole message in my reply and then pare it down to the bare bones. icons disappearing from left side of screen menu
New group and new owner here. I just figured out how to get into my profile (not group profile) by clicking on the privacy icon on the left side of the screen. I was able to put a picture on and change one of my privacy settings so people can see me in directory. When I tried to send a message to the rest of the group to tell them how to change that privacy setting, the "privacy" icon was gone from my left screen menu! At least one other member had a problem with an icon disappearing...not sure which one but it may have been the same. Please help!

Isidro,
Can I transfer multiple yahoo groups to subgroups of a main group?Yes. Perform a separate transfer for each Yahoo Group, selecting the appropriate Groups.io subgroup as the destination. Your pre-paid upgrade to premium covers all the transfers into the primary group and its subgroups. The one catch is that all members of a Groups.io subgroup must also be a member of the associated primary group. So as you do the transfers into subgroups, any addresses not already in the primary group will be automatically added to both the subgroup and primary group. Re: Member Directory vs. List of Group Members
Larry,
Member Directory, with a choice of optionsThe Members Directory is a feature designed to allow group members to learn about each other. It does not reveal email addresses, but each member can create a group profile and then make it available to other members to see. In the profile they might say a few things about themselves relevant to the group (like, "I've been a bird watcher since 1975" in a bird related group). Whether that kind of sharing is appropriate to the nature of the group is for the group admins to decide, which is why you have the choice of options. The other, "Members" refers to the Members list. That's normally an admin-only list, but it can be made available to members if that's appropriate for the group. Say a group of people who know each other in real life. When made available to members, they see only a few of the columns, not all that an admin sees. In particular members can see: Display Name, Email, Delivery, and Applied (Joined). Finally, does a groups.io Group member need to be a groups.ioThey need to log in to the website. The don't even need to establish a password, just have the site email them a link that logs them in. The word "registered" implies a lot of process and formality that does not exist in Groups.io. Yes, every member has a Groups.io account associated with their email address, but that account was created automatically and they don't need to access it if they don't want to. But, if they do log in and access their account, then there are controls and options there that they may find useful. Like setting their time zone. Member Directory vs. List of Group Members
I have just successfully transferred my first Yahoo Group to groups.io; every valid member, message, picture and file transferred correctly. What a relief!
Now, I have a question I hope one of you will answer. In the groups.io settings, there are two entries under General Privacy: Member Directory, with a choice of options and Members Visible, with a choice of options What is the difference? Finally, does a groups.io Group member need to be a groups.io registered member to access the Group messages, pictures and files on the Group website? I cannot tell because I am already a groups.io registered member. Yahoo membership was required to access these website features. Is groups.io registration needed to do so? -- Best wishes, Larry McDavid W6FUB Anaheim, California (SE of Los Angeles, near Disneyland) |

Re: Question about fees
Thank you Frances. It looks like once I get on the premium plan, we can take it out for a test drive and see how it fits us all. If we like all the additions, other members have offered to pitch in to contribute so I would not have to pay anything. It is a Mexican chat list with over 10,000 members. It is rather exciting to start this new chapter. Tracking RSVP's would be neat because there are many functions people forget about. Time will tell! Susan
