Re: Email Delivery Options for Message Topics
#featurerequest
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýAkshaya January Owners Group admin,I would like to request a feature where Email Delivery options can be set up on individual topics or hashtags. When a topic starts to get too busy there are some ways you can control that particular topic. See the drop-menu in the Topics list. You can moderate the topic, lock it, or modify its reply behavior: The same options are available through the Edit Topic item in the More menu when you are looking at the topic rather than the list. The Reply To overrides may not be entirely effective when members reply by email, depending on the member's email interface. or Is it possible already to do so by any other means? As Frances noted, the members themselves can also exert some control over which messages are sent to them (Message Selection). This can be done as part of the Advanced Preferences section of their Subscription page. See Advanced Preferences under Subscription Options in the Help page. Members can also choose to Mute an individual topic through the Mute This Topic link in the footer of any message in the topic. See the Muting and Following in the Help page as well as Your Friend the Footer in GMF's Wiki. Re: Member welcome
Nancy,
Right now members receive two messages. This on and one from us.Weird. My understanding is that Groups.io only provides a default Welcome notice if your group hasn't created and made active at least one. That text you quoted does not look familiar, nor in Groups.io's typical style. Are you sure your groups Member Notices list doesn't have two Active notices of type Welcome? Re: Bulk Change of Member Moderation Settings
#members
#moderation
Dave,
I'd rather have these set to "new user moderated" or "normal" (which INo. If you set them to "Use Group Moderation Setting" then their messages will be governed by the "Moderated" checkbox in the Spam Control section of the group's Settings page. The "New Users Moderated" checkbox (in that same section) causes new members to start with the "Override: new user moderated" privilege, but as you've observed that doesn't apply to members copied over during transfer. Manually setting them to that privilege will provide the same effect. When the set number of messages from that member has been approved the mechanism will change their privilege to "Use Group Moderation Setting". Is there a way to modify these users settings in bulk?In the Members list you can checkmark up to a page full of them at a time and choose "Change Moderation" from the Actions menu (at the bottom). You can change the number of members shown per page by adjusting the "Items Per Page" setting in the Web Site Preferences section of the Preferences page in your Account. Bulk Change of Member Moderation Settings
#members
#moderation
I run a group that was imported from Yahoo, and it seems that I have several hundred members whose post status is set to "moderated." I'd rather have these set to "new user moderated" or "normal" (which I believe would be effectively the same thing, since new user moderation is the group's default setting... right?).
Manually editing several hundred user profiles isn't something that appeals to me very much. Is there a way to modify these users settings in bulk? Thanks, Dave |

My apologies for not responding sooner to these helpful replies.? I will try setting our Reply to option to "Reply to Sender" and see what happens. I did try this once, but somehow it didn't act as expected so I changed it back.? Julie |
Re: Member welcome
Hi Duane
Do you mean adding by sending out our own welcome message (already in place via settings) or is there a place to add to this actual message copied below? Right now members receive two messages. This on and one from us. If that latter,? I'm not seeing where that is. Can you point me in the right direction? Member welcome
Hi All
I am looking to change the auto welcome that I believe comes out from groups.io vs our group. Have made changes to our letter in settings, but not seeing anything making this one possible. Did a quick search here -- not seeing anything. Can this not be changed? Thanks Nancy C ECIR Group Congratulations, you are now a member of the [email protected] Groups.io group! Photo albums
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHello:? I am trying to understand photo albums within Groups. Even in the Group Manager forum, there is one photo album with 400+ pictures? I want to delete a photo album in one of my groups that serves no purpose. How do I do that? And can I not set up separate photo albums for individual projects? ? Thank you for your help in this matter. ? Donnell Bell ? Donnell Ann Bell

My WIKI folder needs to be fixed?
I am not the well versed on making changes, especially the Wiki Folder, so before a mistake is made by me, I need advice first.
To start, the Wiki on a Groups.io forum was created as a 'Table of Contents"? with links to documents and videos. It was working just fine. Then one of the moderators accidentally added a folder and now there is two folders. The information says that I should make a folder with the word "Home" My question is what is the best way to move the additional accident folder,? and get the "Table of Contents" folder as the "Home" folder. Email Delivery Options for Message Topics
#featurerequest
Dears GMF members,
I have a group with around 400 members and most of them have 'Individual Messages' as email delivery option. Whenever a sensitive message topic is discussed, there is a lot of one liner confirmation responses like 'I too agree', 'OK for me but ...' etc and too many mails are received for everyone. As a moderator, I collate the one liner responses from many owners and send it as an digest from my own admin id which is very time consuming. I would like to request a feature where Email Delivery options can be set up on individual topics or hashtags. or Is it possible already to do so by any other means? P.S: 1. Many folks would not like set up the option Full Featured Digest in the fear of missing out important mails immediately 2. The topic cannot be just restricted into a poll as there are numerous options available from members. |
Re: automatic notifications
Fabien,
?
I want to set up automatic notifications to send to members when they subscribe, unsubscribe, and if they subscribe, automatically have an email sent explaining the rules and such. If this is possible, how do you do it? ?
Click on the Member Notices tab of your group's Settings page. There you can add notices of various types to be sent at the relevant event. For more?information see the help page:
