mx:sccema.groups.io
They say "Sender IP" but they look up domain of Return-Path or "From:". They don't understand what they are talking about.

You need to use forwarding, not "MX Records".

.MOV File Storage

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

I had a member send an email with three files as attachments to the group, which is fine since we accept attachments. One file was a 3.97 MB .jpg, one was a 836 KB ,jpg, and one was a 7.92 MB .mov file. The two ,jpg files are in Emailed Photos, but I can¡¯t find any sign of the .mov file except in the email with the other two .jpg files. When I go to Billing/View Attachments, I can see that 13 MB (3 attachments) were uploaded. Where would this .mov file be stored if I wanted to delete it?

MX records from Dreamhost to groups.io #email

Michael Ost

Hi groups.io experts,

?

My non-profit has a website hosted at Dreamhost (www.analybandwagon.org) . We¡¯ve been using their mailing lists for years but would now like to manage emails with our abw.groups.io account. That is, we don¡¯t want to redirect all of??to abw.groups.io; we want to keep the website but we just want emails sent to?SOMEONE@...?to get handled by?[email protected].

?

I came across something called ¡°MX Records¡± which sound like just the trick:?. Supposedly they can allow me to route emails without having to change all DNS lookups.

?

Do you know if this can work? Do you know what MX record settings I would use for abw.groups.io?

?

Thanks in advance!

Re: Wiki instruction or tutorial

note - I have no issue with setting up a ToC on a wiki page, so let's not go into the weeds of using a ToC vs not using a ToC.
.
But, I noticed today that the Table of Contents tags on our wiki page no longer jumps down to the associated header on that page.??
Each ToC line now operates as an?exteral link?and now opens a NEW WEB PAGE (oriented at the associated header location.)

Has anyone else noticed this???

Was there a change in how the ToC operates (or have I lost my mind?)???

Re: explaining PSP/tube

I would never purposely post anything that is PTU. If I see PTU or do not share, I delete immediately even though it's been around the internet for weeks or years by the time it gets to me.

I have had groups for over 20 years. I get no financial gain from any of them. I just share to help those who love to create tags.

I am 68 and am disabled as well. I would never want to take away anyone's income.

Good luck in all you do.

550 Sender IP reverse lookup rejected #invitation

Hello GMF,

First, first time poster here.? If this is not the right place for this, please advise.?

?

I recently set up a couple of different groups and all is going well!? ¡ except for one user who works for a city.? She has never been able to receive any of our invitations, and their IT commented below.? I am not sure it is really resolved on their end, but wanted to pass this on to see if this is something that needs to be addressed on the groups.io side, or is there better guidance to give to their IT dept.

?

Any suggestions?

?

Regards,

jim

Re: How to merge or combine hashtags #hashtags

Hi

Just created an alias for a hashtag and that automatically transferred everything to my new improved hashtag. Nice! Love those hashtags.

I do not.
According to Mark on the beta list, DMCA takedown notices received by Groups.io are forwarded to the group owner of the infracting group, so Karen should have received a copy of the notice, which presumably has contact information on it.

Ah! Thanks so much, Gerald! So, I see that one can only see their own and not a member's account settings. Oh, well.

Re: Member can't send email; receives an "it isn't valid" message #email

Shai, our group has panelist-led discussions. The topic is sent by the panelists to the group. The members will 'reply all' in order for the panelists to respond personally, if need be.

I appreciate your advice. I will check into it.

Re: Moderator Changing Subscriber's Display Name

I have edited several of our members names today, so I can distinguish one member from another that have the same first names. I cannot find under Admin/Activity that I did any of the name editing, nor did I find anything under the Activity History for me as the owner/moderator

Don

Re: Moderator Changing Subscriber's Display Name

Chris,

Thinking about it what you have seen as a result of any tests you have
done on shalstest /may/ not have given you a complete picture.
Probably not, but what it did show me was alarming enough.

What I did: signed in as an owner of shalstest I found one of my other subscriptions, a member not mod or owner, and edited his Display Name. Then I went to the group's Activity page and looked in the All Activity tab. Top on the list was an entry matching the time of my action, but stating the wrong action.

Looking now I see that same entry (11:39 am on 7/21) shows in the Moderator Activity tab, the Activity History tab of the member's subscription page, and in the Activity History tab of the moderator's subscription page.

All stating the wrong action. In fact an impossible action as the subject member, as a /member/, has no Moderator permissions to have changed.

Re: [unban] Emails #question

On Sun, Jul 21, 2019 at 06:38 PM, nobe wrote:
Does anyone know how to "unban" an email?
To unban a subscriber, log into groups.io, go to your group (/g/GROUPNAME)?and select Admin>Members from the left-side menu bar. Pull down the blue Members menu at top-left of the resulting page and select Banned from the list of values. Now tick the checkbox next to the person you want to unban, scroll down to the bottom and select "unban" from the Actions menu.

Actual email messages cannot be banned, and therefore cannot be unbanned. If you've reported a message as inappropriate, there is no way to withdraw the report; if you've deleted a message from the message archive, there is no way to retrieve it.

Hope this helps,
Bruce
