Uploaded files require you to click on the link to access the file online.? It would have to be attached to a separate email by someone to be included with an email.

Re: blurry photos??

I am fairly new to Groups.io and have the same 'issue'.? It doesn't matter what size the photo is when it is uploaded, it is blurry on a desktop screen (it is fine on a phone).?

I have uploaded a photo at 4000x 3000 (shows as 3.9 mb on the groups.io ) and a reduced version (to save space) at 1280x960 (shows as 1.1 mb), and they are both blurry when selected from the album,? If I select download, I get a crisp clear image on the screen so the image has not been corrupted during the upload.

Re: Spam getting through to group

Ken,

The member¡¯s address is <person>@ but the From: field of the spam message is showing as <person>=[email protected].

That's normal processing for Yahoo Mail messages (and AOL and some other domains as well). It has nothing to do with whether the message is legit or spoofed.

1. The address checking functionality is obviously treating the spoofed address the same as the real address.? Is there a way around this?

No.

IMO Groups.io ought to be authenticating inbound messages, but Mark is concerned that that would lock out too many legit users whose messages would not authenticate.

2. Is there a way of viewing the raw source of messages as they have come into Groups.io?
3. Is there a way of viewing the raw source of messages held in the messages archive?

If you are a mod/owner of the group the More menu under the message should have a View Source item.
If you receive the message as individual email it will contain some original header fields and some which have been replaced or altered. Plus a bunch of new fields relating to the message's journey from Groups.io and into your receiving service.

Re: Changing group owners #groupowner #howto

Select the member from the Member list by clicking on the row anyplace other than the box.? On the details page, Select the Role for the member from the drop down list.? Scroll to the bottom and select Save.

Databases

Bill

I have tried and tried and tried, and cannot figure out how to add new databases.

As I go through the process, I never see where to enter the URL of the site you want to add to the column.

Can you provide a step by step process for adding a new database ?

Changing group owners #groupowner #howto

I will be leaving a group and want to have another member designated as the owner before I go. I can't find out how to change her status, and the messages I've searched don't seem to address that.

I¡¯m the member she¡¯s referring to and yes, I have a password ..... I don¡¯t do my mail on the web and I don¡¯t clear my cache nor cookies. All my mail comes to my email provider. This is the first time this has ever happened. I was reading my mail for that group and this was one of my messages:

So are you saying she does have a Pw, but up? til now the sign on has been automatically populated, or that she has remained logged in after web sessions?
if that¡¯s what you/she is saying she probably cleared her cache(s) and cookies. After she logs in once she should be able to stay logged in. I hate ¡°clean up¡± utilities/apps that do that and wipe all my auto password/usernames.

if that¡¯s not it - more info please???

1. Is the image as it is displayed in the browser LARGER or SMALLER than the original?

2. When you visit the image in individual view, and click the "Download" button, does it then show/download the image in its original clarity?

3. I posted a possibly related post here:

Spam getting through to group

Ken Hamer

We have a group with about 120 members and it works great. In the past couple days, we have started getting spam messages spoofed as one of the members - except it¡¯s not really.

The member¡¯s address is <person>@yahoo.co.uk but the From: field of the spam message is showing as <person>@....

So my questions are:

1. The address checking functionality is obviously treating the spoofed address the same as the real address. Is there a way around this?

2. Is there a way of viewing the raw source of messages as they have come into Groups.io?

3. Is there a way of viewing the raw source of messages held in the messages archive?

Many thanks for any help anyone can provide.

Regards,

Ken Hamer

Did you resend them after you changed the setting, or are you still looking at the old images?

Re: Integration with Google Calendar #calendar

I am stuck on this and it is probably something stupid - and it is on the Google end.? So I got the Calendar link from Groups.io - but I can't find "add friend's calendar".? ?There is a link called "add calendar" with a "from url" option so I assume that is it.? It just adds another calendar at the bottom - I could see all events on one calendar view by clicking that box and the calendar I want to integrate, but that is still two calendars.? I want the events from Groups.io calendar - and maybe others - to consolidate on one calendar which I can then reshare or publish on my website.?

Am I thinking about this incorrectly, or doing something wrong?

Re: #membership (Slack) #membership

Anyone know the latest on the Slack integration.? I believe it will sync if there are no subgroups, but what happens then.? Say you have a Groups.io group with 100 members and you sync with a Slack channel with 10 members.? Do all the Groups.io members get added to the Slack channel, and do all the Slack channel members get added to the Groups.io group?? If so, that would mean the Slack channel members would start getting emails - which they may not want and the Groups.io members would start getting Slack notifications - which they might not want.

What happens when someone posts on Groups.io - does it go to Slack, and are Slack messages turned into email messages?? ?I agree - this advertised feature is a big reason I came here also, and a little documentation would help.? Does anyone have real world experience with this who can explain how it works.?

Thank you

Rob

What size and resolution is the original?
can you email it to me and I¡¯ll experiment.?

Made zero difference to what? Previously uploaded photos will not be "unblurred" by increasing the size limit; it only affects photos uploaded after making the change. Likewise reducing the size limit has no impact on existing photos, only those uploaded subsequently.

help with a issue a member of my group has

I just received this message from one of my members

This requires me to sign in and have a PW??? Is something changing with the book group?

I am not understanding why she is now being required to sign in and have a password if she is a member ; and she has been a member who joined my groups using the usual?
sign up and in method.

Please help?

Re: Deleting a bounced e-mail address that later subscribed successfully

Duane,

? ? ? ? ? You are correct.? There is a 'p' in one that's not in the other, and the "bounce" tag threw me off (and I can't count how many times I've looked at this thing and not noticed that 'p'.)

? ? ? ? ? Clearly, I can delete the address (or, more likely, non-address) that has the bounce tag.
