You are probably out of storage space...Basic groups are restricted to 1 GB of storage. Current usage can be found by going to Admin>Upgrade. See the wiki entry at?/g/GroupManagersForum/wiki/Managing-Attachments%2C-Files-and-Photos?for further details and remedies. If you've already checked under Admin>Upgrade and are well under the 1 GB limit, it could be that you've logged in using an email address that does not have file upload permissions. Is there anything that I can check to make sure I have the settings right. I get the replies back through gmail, but if I use my comcast account, I have to bcc me to see the reply. While logged into groups.io with your comcast account, go to /account?page=prefs, scroll to the bottom, and make sure the My Posts checkbox is checked. Failing that, this could represent over-aggressive email filtering on the part of comcast. Spammers will often insert your own email address as the From address of a message to send you spam (this is known as spoofing:? ). Because of this, some email services now check the From address of any message and if it's the same as the receiving address but did not originate from one of their mail servers, filter it out. I don't know enough about comcast to advise on whether they provide any settings to fine-tune this behavior.?Some folks have found it necessary to turn off spam filtering entirely so as to reliably receive group messages.?You can also check your spam folder, but in my experience such messages are usually sent to the bit-bucket.? ? Does anyone know what is up?Are you a Basic (free) group or one that is paid - for? If the latter are you payments up to date or overdue? I assume from your mention of your Activity Log that you are an owner or moderator, and that you must therefore be logged in as such, or else you wouldn't be able to see the Log. There is a setting that prevents members from posting, but allows moderators to post (i.e. an Announcement Group) but if you can't post as a moderator that doesn't look like the reason for things going wrong; in any case I see from your publicly viewable messages that you have numerous "posters" so you don't look like an annoucement group anyway. If you cannot find anything then an email to [email protected] looks like the best bet. Chris |

I just feel like it has to be Comcast, and wondering if anyone else is having this problem. Thank you so much Hugs Laine |

Mesages not making it to the group
Our group?/g/brcg-list?has not let any messages in since January 17th. There is no evidence in the logs that the messages have been received?by the system. ? I attempted to create a message in the web interface and that is not showing in the activity log. Does anyone know what is up? |

Re: Bouncing emails.
Bill,
?
?
That happens to be irrelevant to the bouncing question.
?
?
Ok. So did you have a look? Cox says:
"The sending IP address has been temporarily blocked by Cox due
?to exhibiting spam-like behavior. ?The block duration varies depending on reputation and other factors, ?but will not exceed 24 hours. Inspect email traffic for potential spam, ?and retry email delivery." Of note is the code CDRBL - "RBL" often stands for "Real-time Blackhole List". The IP address cited (66.175.222.12) is Groups.io's outbound email server. So Cox relied on an RBL which apparently listed Groups.io as a source of spam. Some email services rely on low-quality RBL services whose data may be out of date or simply wrong. ?
To resolve this your members will have to ask Cox to whitelist Groups.io as a valid email list sender. If Cox won't do that, then the members will have to put up with losing the occasional message, or switch to a more savvy email service.

Re: Bouncing emails.
Bill,
That depends. Are they attempting to post to your group by email, and getting a message back from Groups.io with that code? If so have a look in your group's Activity Log to see why their postings (or replies) were rejected. Or are they listed in you're group's Members list with a blue (or red) "B" for bouncing (or bounced)? If so look in the Email Delivery History tab of their membership page to see why their email service rejected a message from Groups.io. Tell us the text of the Reason that goes with the error code. Ok, so how do I find the solution to my members being bounced with a 550.5.1.0... error code?
