it was rejected via email, not via the web.The only thing I can think of at the moment is that you inadvertently clicked on "reply" rather than the "reject" link. Does your group have other moderators? If so, is it possible that one of them accepted the message immediately before you tried to reject it? Suggestion 1: have a look at your Activity Log to see what that has to say Suggestion 2: enlist the help of another group member and get them to send a message that you try to reject to see if the same thing happens again. Let me double check things first!...which I have now done, and my findings confirm my earlier comments. My comment about "Reply to Sender" was a red herring; that is the current default set by Shal for a different test a few days ago. Referring the absence of anything in the Activity Log (confirmed!) is a good candidate for beta; can I suggest that you enlist the help of another of your group's members to try to replicate the test I did, just to be sure... there is no point in referring something that cannot be repeated. Direct add of members weirdness
I created a new group along with a subgroup.? Our membership settings auto-add members to the subgroup.? i created a custom msg when adding members to the main group.? I was under the assumption all members would get this msg when they are directly added. I sent a file of about 8500 emails (our migrated users) to be approved.? ?I'm being told members are getting the "Welcome to the [subgroup]" but not my custom message for the main group.? So I'm getting lots of emails from our members asking me if the subgroup msg is spam. How come the members are not seeing my initial main group custom message? Frank |

Chris,
When you went back to view the test message, did you use the link in the email, which worked?in my case, or click on the messages tab on the site, which?did not show the message in my case.? That was part of the issue, it was there because the link took you there, but there was no way to get to it from the site. I'll?move this conversation over to the beta site. Peace, Tom |

I was sent a message by Groups.io stating that the message had been reported (along with all the other members of that group I have moderator status) but the topic (single post!) did not disappear; the link in the message I was sent went straight to it. FWIW the "reply" I sent was to myself, for the simple reason that I did not notice that the default reply option changes to one whereby the message originator is the recipient, not the group, but a second reply went to the group as normal when I clicked the right tab. I can confirm that nothing of this (pointless!) exchange appeared in the Activity Log. Chris |

There is nothing in the Activity Log noting the report being sent and no option I can find to reinstate the thread (other than deleting the reported message). Two points: for the avoidance of doubt there does not appear to be an activity defined as "Reported Message", so on that basis the log can't record it! That sounds like something for beta. The second point (about reinstating the thread with the reported message) sounds like something for support. Chris |
Re: Message marked "Objectionable" hides full thread?
Yes, report this message sends a message to the moderator/owner that:
[member name] wishes to inform you that the following message:
Once that message was received, the full thread was not showing in "Messages." ?Once I deleted the reported message, the thread came back, less the one I deleted. ¿ªÔÆÌåÓýAs of today, 1/22/19, I have had two messages that I ¡®rejected¡¯ for posting that posted anyway.? This hasn¡¯t happened to me in the past and not sure if it is a ¡®groups.io¡¯ problem or if I¡¯m doing something wrong.? I HAVE passed this information on to support at groups.io BUT wanted to know of any of you managers are experiencing the same situation AND if so if you have a ¡®work around¡¯ until the issue is fixed. Re: Items per page setting ignored when viewing activity log
There are a few places where infinite scroll (IS) doesn't work.? I know when looking at the activity log, it will work with any of the fixed numbers, but not IS. Same for a database.? I'm not sure why IS doesn't work on those, but 100 is usually more than I want to see at once.? It's been that way for some time.

Re: Message marked "Objectionable" hides full thread?
Tom, how do you mark a message objectionable? I tried and can't see how. Not in an emailed message nor on the group homepage.
Would it be done through their email program / client? Frances -- /g/GroupManagersForum/wiki /static/help More help: use the search button at the top of the Messages list. |
Message marked "Objectionable" hides full thread?
We had a member mark a message within a thread as?objectionable and now the entire thread does not show, although if you access the original messages in the thread from the Activity Log, the thread is still there. ? What I¡¯m assuming has happened is the thread was ¡°hidden¡± when it was marked?objectionable. ?(In this case it was not really?objectionable, it was just someone complaining about the wording.) ? So how does a moderator/owner ¡°un-objectionablize¡± a message?? (Un-objectionablize is a technical term in case you are not familiar with it??) ? Peace, Tom Vail |
