Re: Not getting messages
Go to Admin>Members and look at his subscriber record. Does it should a blue or red "B"? If so, his email is bouncing. Click on his Email Delivery History (button at the top) to see details. Assuming his Y!Mail account is actually working now, you can manually send him a bounce probe. When he clicks on the link in that email, it will unbounce his account.
Failing that, click on the user record to open it. Scroll down to Email Delivery. Is he set to No Email or Special Notices? If so, switch him to Individual Messages and click the Save button. Hope this helps, Bruce -- The system Help is your friend.??/static/help |

P.S. Is there a way to eliminate permanently those 2 little dash marks that appear before the customized signature? Please no. Those two dash marks (actually "dash dash space") are "cut marks." They allow some email programs to know where a signature and other material extraneous to any response to that message begin so they can automatically cut it out of any response. Jim H |

Sorry, I have read the help and other topics, but I'm still struggling with inserting a ToC for a Wiki.? I have created a page, inserted several Header 1's along with sample text and then at the top of the page inserted a ToC.?? ? ? |
Re: Topic EDITED flag ¨C Who can see; who can access . . .?

Thanks Duane. That's what I needed to know.
The only way around that that I can see then would be to delete the post and re-post it with the changes. That of course would not delete the original post as first sent to those members receiving the post via Daily Digest or Individual Emails. Paul M. == |
Subgroup for Group panelists/moderators?

The group I own has panelists who lead discussions among our members. If I set up a subgroup for the panelists, Thanks! |

Don't know if this is the place to do this or not but
KUDOS to groups.io. ?Our small group moved over from Yahoo in April and we couldn't be happier! I still, this morning, sat tensely as I put a clipart in my post. You wouldn't believe the number of times I'd put a clipart in my Yahoo post and loose the whole darn cotton-pickin' thing! ?It got so I'd copy/save anything substantial I'd composed onto Word. ? Once again, this morning, I sent a good morning post to the group, added some clipart, and sat tense waiting to see if it'd disappear or not go through. ?It went! ?This is such a relief and I'm glad to be here. ?Please stick around for another 12 years! ?Thank you! P.S. ?Is there a way to eliminate permanently those 2 little dash marks that appear before the customized signature? ?Thank you again! --?

Re: DIRECTORY - LIMITED TO VIEW OF MEMBERS
The Directory will only show those members that have created a group profile and have set it to be shared (owner/mods will see everyone).? The only way to make sure everyone can see everyone else is to make the Members list available to all.? That includes email addresses and other info, so may not be what you want.

Everyone can see the Edited badge and click on it to see the edits.? The only way to 'hide' it is to disable editing of messages.

DIRECTORY - LIMITED TO VIEW OF MEMBERS
Ellen Bourne
One of the members of Danburycoc group.io can only see three members on his i-phone, table and laptop. Currently, they're 21 members?and more to accept their invitations..? Can you please give me the directions as to how he and others (if this should arise) could see all the other members in the directory.?

I went in and changed the settings to Message Footer to force the HTML Tag. Change to Reply to Group and Senders.

Is this the correct settings so you can reply to one sender.
?
I did select update group when completed

A member of our group is getting this response which I have attached.? I emailed him individual and he is getting the response at the bottom of the image |
Topic EDITED flag ¨C Who can see; who can access . . .?
#howto
Was wondering who can see the edits made to a post online at a GIO group.
I'm a group owner and just noticed the blue 'EDITED' flag at the upper righthand corner of an opened message. Also just discovered that as an owner I can click on the EDITED flag and see a list of the edits by date of edit and also open and view them. I also discovered that as a regular member (via a 2nd registered subscription to my group) I can still see and click on the EDITED flag and access the changes, although they are somewhat more limited. So my question is, are there any group settings available for hiding the edit flag from the general membership and/or possibly from the Moderators. Haven't been able to locate any controls specifically dealing with this. TIA Paul M. == |
Re: Account disappeared
#membership
This is a new one on me.
"Email marked as spam" cancels your subscription to a group. It does not delete your account. So I'm wondering if we're talking about the same thing. If his account actually did disappear, my guess is he may have tried to do an account merge or deletion and swapped the email addresses. IT professionals make mistakes, too.? Account disappeared
#membership
Our condo HOA is new to Groups.io, having ported over from Yahoo.? However, we have a mystery, and we were wondering what happened, and could it happen again.
One of our members reported that he had two gmail accounts registered in Groups.io, and one of them (the one he relied on) suddenly disappeared.? He was able to go back in and reestablish the account, using the exact same gmail address and password for it that he'd used in the past. I searched this group looking for similar problems, and found one that talked about email marked spam.? We reviewed that and found it was a different problem than ours. Is this something that happens?? We have about 75 registered email addresses, and no one else has reported anything like this.? (The member with the problem is an IT professional, and he knows how data bases and list servers work.) |
Re: Calendar and timezone problems
#timezone
There are several places for time zone (TZ) settings.? You can choose the default for the calendar and also for your group.? Each member also has a TZ setting in their account.? This allows each member to see their local times for events.? You should be able to find a pretty good explanation in previous posts on this group.
If you're looking at an event after the DST change, it may appear to be off now, but will be correct after the change. Duane -- Help: /static/help GMF's Wiki: /g/GroupManagersForum/wiki Search button at the top of Messages list A few site FAQs: /static/pricing#frequently-asked-questions |
