So now you need to check the source code on the message at the group to see where the holdup was.? Compare the times of the various Received headers.

I know that.
That is the only thing that I had from the source at the time?it was mentioned ?
that I ought to check out the source. That was what I received and the time that I had
sent the original message.

That's the message as gmail received it from you,
not as you received the message back from the group.

Thanks!

Did I get that right?
If your group has things that can be downloaded, then the user will need
to be logged into Groups.IO, to download the item.

By way of example, the list I moderate distributes templates for
LibreOffice. To obtain the template, one needs to log into Groups.IO,
select the group I moderate, and the switch to the file downloads area.

access to subgroup only?

Is it possible to allow someone to subscribe to a subgroup but not have access to other groups? We have an internal set of council members, but people outside this help with sub committees...

FINALLY...after all these weeks, the invitation was accepted and process begun.?

It's possible that the Yahoo invitation system isn't working properly. It wouldn't be the first time.

Another common error is to attempt to invite the transfer agent to the GIO group instead of the Yahoo group.

Go to the transfer page at?/yahootransfer?

At the bottom of the page there should be an "In Process" box. Click in the box and find the group name in the resulting pull-down menu (if it doesn't appear, you skipped Step 1 somehow).

Assuming the group does appear, click on it. There should be a grey box at the top of the resulting page giving status information. If it says "we have received your invitation and will accept it soon," then your invitation went out.

The longest step in the entire process is the wait for the agent to join your Yahoo group. Once that happens and you promote it a Moderator, the rest of the process should complete in 2-3 days.

Failing all that, you can try to contact support(at)groups(dot)io and ask Mark what's up.

Hope this helps,
Bruce

At the bottom right of that page, do you see your transfer in the In Process drop down box?? If not, you haven't started the transfer in Step 1.? If you do, just wait.

Re: [email protected] not working for me

And the above is EXACTLY what I have done, yet six weeks out the first failed acceptance of my invite, and nearing three weeks after my second attempt, I sit with no acceptance of the invite. Very unimpressed. Who runs IO???

Re: [email protected] not working for me

I am in the same boat. I have followed the steps precisely, yet here I sit, weeks later and no acceptance of the original invite. I've even reread the steps, done it all again...and now getting closer to three weeks after the second attempt...nothing.? If IO works that poorly for this long, what is going on???

Re: [email protected] not working for me

I have? done 1-10 precisely....yet does patience mean several weeks with no acceptance of my invte??? Several weeks? Very disappointed.?

Re: IO never accepts invitation to be a member of my Yahoo group. Why?? What do I do?

Same, Joe B. And it's been WEEKS and no acceptance of invitation. Have even done it twice.?

In this group no members are moderated. Since it is a Signature Tagging Group, the members cannot post, only the taggers and they aren't moderated. Me as an owner isn't moderated either.
?
My resend I made just a few minutes ago made?it to the group without a problem.
The original message that I sent at 10:00 AM CDT has yet to make it to the group.
?
A Message last night was delayed about 3 hours?but a message I had sent after right after?the original message last night made?it to the group right away.
?
It seems only some messages are being held up, not all.

Is the group by any chance moderated, as this one is?? Here, all messages must be approved before they show up (or get emailed to members.)

Re: Do I need a Groups.io a ccount? A subscriber asked....

For sure everything on groups.io is easier than Yahoogroups. It's such a pleasure not having to try (and unsuccessfully) explain how to log into YG.

________________________________
I'd say you were correct, but incomplete.

When the group was transferred from Yahoo, each person had an account created for them that is their email address.? (The exception would be anyone that previously used that email address to open an account here.? In that case, they were added to your group.)? They can change their message delivery via email using the addresses as shown at /static/help#emailcommands.

If they'd like to use the group online, they could use the information at /g/GroupManagersForum/wiki/How-to-Set-a-Personal-Password-and-Profile%3B-Changing-Email-Address to check it out.? Note that they never need to set a password if they don't want to, they can just use the "Email me a link to log in" when they want to access the group online.? Once they've logged in, they will stay logged in for 30 days on each device unless they intentionally log out.? The links I gave are to publicly viewable pages, so you can include them in emails when answering questions.

Having an account here is so much easier than Y! that it often confuses people! ;>)
