If there is no other owner, you can start with talking to the family of the deceased dead owner to see if they have access to his passwords and account. The family could name a long time active member

You likely logged in as a new member with a different email address on your iPad and that is the one you are seeing under ¡°Members¡± list. Your original membership, the one as owner, is still there
