If you look closely, you'll see that Owner is a lighter shade of gray and can't be selected.? Nor can you demote an owner. Duane -- The official Groups.io user documentation is in the Groups.io Help

If someone has the permission "Set Moderator Privileges," I believe that person can make someone, including themselves, owner. This happened in our group but I don't know if it's been changed since
