I just noticed that you started your group a few days ago.? You should probably read the Owners Manual and the Members Manual to become familiar with everything.? It will definitely take awhile, but should cover everything you need to know.

You've posted in this topic using 2 different email addresses.? That means that you have (at least) 2 accounts on GIO.? You must send from the account that's a member of the group in order for it to be posted.

They will all be converted to Special Notices Only.? I did that on my groups last year.? I wouldn't do it very often, but you could send a message as a Special Notice so it would go out to everyone.? That would allow you to check for bouncing.

Re: Determining active members (and removing the inactive)

Regarding disabling the "no email" option:? What would happen to existing users who are already set to "no email" if this option is then disabled?? Do they remain set at "no email", or are they changed to some other setting?? If so, what setting?? I really don't want to experiment on my 800+ members.

Bryan

Re: Determining active members (and removing the inactive)

Not an answer for you within the Groups.io environment, sorry:? I exported the user list, used Excel to filter to the "no email" users, copied the email addresses, and using my own email client sent a BCC email to them all, asking them to review their membership settings and desire to remain members.

Did the same to those who had "special notices only" selected.

These were both done in response to some users who claimed they didn't change their settings, but no longer were getting email after the GMAIL problems recently, and at least one member who claimed they found themselves set to "special notices only", but previously got emails, and didn't change that setting themselves.? We reviewed the activity log for the member and confirmed it didn't indicate they had changed their settings.

So this was a proactive step to try to catch anyone who, as a result of possible platform reaction to the gmail bounces, might have had their settings changed and didn't know it.

Go to /g/eejh/activity after you log in to the site.? Look through the Activity log to see if your emails are even getting to the group.? If not, your email provider isn't sending them.? Or you're sending them from the wrong email address as Bruce mentioned.

That's good. It suggests that you actually do have access and have not "lost control" of your group.

But I can not post by email in my eejh group
Go to Admin>Activity and look for the incoming messages in the log.

If it says something like "non-member xxxx@ yy.com attempted to send message ZZZZ ZZZ ZZZ via email" then you're sending these posts from a secondary email address...one that is not subscribed to the group.

If it doesn't say anything then you're probably not sending these messages to the group's posting address ([email protected]).

Hope this helps,
Bruce

Not yet.

Earlier on Frances asked you Have you logged into your group site? Are the messages there? Have you received any messages in your mail? When you log in, have you checked Activity List in Admin?

You have not responded to those questions. Trying the above may well provide a clue about the problem.
