Well, you probably don't want to hear this,but Yahoo! webmail does exactly that. If you "hover" the mouse pointer over the end of any displayed subject, an image of a magnifying glass appears.

Messages are exported from Yahoo Groups individually. As they are subsequently added one-by-one to the groups.io message archive, they are threaded according to groups.io's own threading algorithm
