Re: Move messages AFTER group transfer?

Not directly.? You'd have to forward or copy each one as an email from you, so much of the 'envelope' would be lost.
Duane
I would like to do this.? I've got an announcement-only group. I am the only one allowed to post, and therefore have all of the original messages in my Sent mail folder on my computer that I can just forward in to Groups.io.

My question is, can I temporarily turn off the mailing out of messages from my Groups.io group, so subscribers don't see the same messages again?? And then once the missing messages are in, turn it back on, and proceed like normal?

Thanks.

Ron -- How did you determine the "expected number?"

You cannot count on the message number of the highest message to be the same as the total messages present. I suspect these 133 messages were deleted from your Yahoo group before the export ever occurred.?

Identifying Missing Messages after YahooGroups Transfer?

My YahooGroups -> Groups.io transfer completed today (woooo!)? See below for the progress I experienced.

Re: Deleting old links from the Databases section of an imported Yahoo Group #database

Bruce, thank you for your fast reply.? Now I know how to edit and delete individual tables.

Our imported Yahoo Group folders of links form 19 tables of links in our new Groups.io home.

Is there a way to delete all 19 tables simultaneously?

Or must one delete each table one-at-a-time?

There doesn't seem to be an option to delete all tables simultaneously in the upper-left of the Databases screen.? (I tried unsuccessfully to insert an image of the upper screen.? The only two options seem to be +Create Table and +Import Table.? But no option to delete all tables.)

Re: How to approve "pending" members imported from YG?

Me, again. Still trying to figure it out.

The list of members seems complete.

But even some people already listed as members are "applying" and I have to approve.

Is it possible that my setting -- to require approval of new members -- is gumming up the works?

The instructions on the transfer page at?/yahootransfer?say the following:

3. Send an invite?from your Yahoo Group?to?[email protected]?(bold text in original)

Are you trying to invite the transfer agent to your groups.io group? If so, that will not work, and it's no surprise that the status page screenshot shows that no invitation has been received.

Hope this helps,

Re: What does [EXTERNAL] mean on a post

More precisely, administrators of large organizations like American Red Cross and State of North Carolina which use Microsoft Exchange or Microsoft Office 365 can set an option which prefixes the subject with with "[EXTERNAL]" when at least one of the addressees is outside the enterprise. This cautions other internal recipients to be careful what they write in a "Reply All" message.

Re: #transfer Waiting since Oct 31 for iGroups.io to accept invitation to join Yahoo Group evonline2002_webheads #transfer

Thanks Bruce,

I'm not sure what happened the first time but this time my YGroup is listed,?

I sent what I hope is my last invitation to [email protected] and when I click on Update Transfer I now see
We've received the invite to your group and will accept it soon. There is no need to send another invite.

Ok, back to being patient again, but at least now the system is responding as it's supposed to.

Thank you so much for your help!

You should resume at Step 2.1 as I stated in my previous message. At that point your "Existing Transfer" list should no longer be empty.

Thanks Bruce.?

I'm quite sure that I did this
You have to type in your Yahoo Group in the top box and?also?select your destination group from the pull-down menu immediately below it. At that point you should be able to click on the green "Start Group Transfer Process" button without getting an error message of some kind.?

I typed the YGroup name?evonline2002_webheads in the top box
I'm sure I entered the destination group in the bottom menu. I believe it would have been listed there and I selected it, is that correct?

I'm pretty sure I clicked to start the transfer process.

What should I do now? try again?

Please advise, and thanks

Click open the link to the database in question.

To delete a row, click the checkboxes on the left side for any rows you want to get rid of. Scroll down and click the red "Delete Rows" button at the bottom of the page.

To delete the entire table, click on the "Edit Table Properties" button at the top of the page. Scroll down to the bottom of the resulting page and click "Delete Table."

Deleting old links from the Databases section of an imported Yahoo Group #database

My thanks to Groups.io for the impressive import of our Yahoo Group.? Not everything came through.? However, that was due to Yahoo-related corruptions.

I looked in vain to learn how to delete links from an imported Yahoo Group.? (My apologies if I looked for answers in the wrong places.)? The links appear in the Databases section of our new Groups.io home.

All our links are ancient.

In the Databases section, how may I:

  1. Delete all links simultaneously?

  2. Edit or delete links individually?

Thank you in advance for any insights.

The obvious problem with the process is that despite the noble and tireless efforts of the many volunteers to try to deal with the masses of requests for attention to each user's individual problem, there is no way for the individual to find out if anything at all was started at groups.io

One possible solution would be for groups.io to send people who have paid and been waiting for over a week as patiently as possible a REQUEST to join their group.

Our group is a group of around 1000 educators who have been operating as a community of practice without funding since 2002 and I have paid $220 to preserve its thousands of messages. I would appreciate knowing if there is an upper limit on patience required as it appears there is nothing more I can do through this FAQ system, unless I've gone off somewhere through my fault, though I've read a good number of posts here, and can't see where I have done that..

3.1 Go to your YAHOO GROUP (not your groups.io group) and log in. Send a membership invitation to "[email protected]". If you've never done this before, instructions can be found at??
3.2 Return to the bookmarked page?(/yahootransfer) once again. Select the group you are transferring from the Existing Transfers at bottom right (click on its link). A new page will come up, with?a status box at the top. If all is well, it?should?say: "We've received the invite to your group and will accept it soon. There is no need to send another invite."?If it?doesn't?say that, the invitation did not go through. Go back to Step 3.1 above and try again.??
(You have now completed Step 3 of the instructions)

4.1 BE PATIENT. Accepting the invitation is often?the longest step in the process, and requires human intervention (solving a CAPTCHA).?
4.2 BE EVEN MORE PATIENT.?Do?not?send additional invitations in an attempt to hurry things up.
4.3 You will eventually?receive an email from groups.io stating?that the Yahoo group invitation has been accepted, and providing you with further instructions.?Continue waiting until you receive this email.
(You have now completed Step 4 of the instructions)
