You can have a number. (I belong to a travel group with 1 as the first part of the name.)
I believe there is a period of time that prevents reusing a name.?

At any rate, take a look at this thread -?/g/GroupManagersForum/message/20560

Orest,?

What are app are you using?

The instructions say:
Scan This Barcode With Your App
Configure your authenticator app to receive security codes from Groups.io. Don't have an authenticator app? Choose from a list of our recommended apps: Google Authenticator, Duo Mobile, Authy, or Windows Phone Authenticator.
Note: If you enable two-factor authentication, you will not be able to log in using Facebook, Google or the Email Me a Link to Log In functions.

Two factor Authentication

I see a menu option for TFA, but it doesn't do anything after you input your password, just continues to say "Status: Off".

Still not implemented, or a bug?

?
Transfers are queued up when you first set it up and processed in that order until you get to Step 5.?
?
At that point they are re-ordered based on when the transfer go-ahead is given and uploaded to groups.io in that order (unless you pay $200 for priority service).
?
When you click on the green "Set Up New Transfer" button at bottom left of the Yahoo groups transfer page (/yahootransfer), a new page will come up where you can enter the source and destination group names.?
?
There is also a series of checkboxes for the various areas of the group to transfer (files, photos, members, messages, etc). Simply uncheck the ones you don't want before clicking the "Start New Transfer Process" button.
?
If you've already started a transfer, return to the Yahoo groups transfer page (/yahootransfer), select the transfer you've already started from the "Existing Transfers" list (pull down the menu and click on its name). On the resulting page you will see the same series of checkboxes. Uncheck the ones you don't want and then click the "Update Transfer" button. Actual transfer status for any ongoing transfer can be found in the status box at the top of the page.

New (2019-10-25) If you have started a Yahoo Group transfer, and the status is the message that starts "Make sure you have sent an invite to your group", that means that we have not received your invite yet and that you should send another one. You might read this thread.
/g/GroupManagersForum/message/19672

You might also just start a new group here, invite members. Or announce in YahooGroups.?

That would be an entirely logical conclusion. Time for an email to [email protected] I think.

Yes, I sent them an email yesterday, and bumped it again today. Haven't heard anything yet.

FWIW, I finally got hold of management, and they fixed it. It was something internal, and perhaps left over from the transfer process. My group is up.

Some people have tried to invite the transfer agent to their Groups.io group.
Perhaps YahooGroups is acting up.

Re: Transfer Complete - some members "bounced"

As you undoubtedly know, as a moderator at Yahoo, under Manage Members, I can pull up a list of ¡°Bouncing.¡± I now see that it is 182 long, none are marked ¡°No Emails¡± but most of them joined many years ago and I believe that the problem is that their emails are all invalid. That means that they were not receiving any communications but may have been posting and reading.

In an unrelated problem, nothing I post in the Yahoo group is being displayed. My guess is that the Yahoo moderators are deleting it.

Re: Are there problems if people post to Groups.io before the Yahoo migration completes? #yahoo #messages

John B.,

I've been wondering whether there will be any problems if people post
to Groups.io while the migration from Yahoo is in progress. Does
anyone have experience with this?
I do, and there is no problem. The message numbers will get intermingled, but that's only noticeable using the previous/next buttons in the messages view.

Are there problems if people post to Groups.io before the Yahoo migration completes? #yahoo #messages

John B

I've been wondering whether there will be any problems if people post to Groups.io while the migration from Yahoo is in progress.? Does anyone have experience with this??

I have heard something to the effect that people signing-up before the account is moved over, will cause the Yahoo "Join Date" and old membership settings to be ignored.? But are there any bad effects on the migration of messages, etc.??

Thanks for any advice!!
