Hello,
Many thanks for previous help with the move to Groups.io which I and members are happy with. However, I have noticed that our Yahoo group still exists and one or two members have unwittingly posted there. Is it time to close it down completely or will this just happen in due course without input from me? If it's up to me, then how do I go about it?

Displaying HTML/XML code in message archive?
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHi all, ? We are a technical standards body and in the process of our work we quite often use XML and/or HTML in our messages. ? We¡¯ve just moved some of our lists over from Yahoo Groups to groups.io and while it has worked very well in the most part, members have noticed that XML or HTML included in messages is not displayed in the web view. ? Content such as this: ? <a_made_up_xml_element new_attribute=¡±new_value¡±> ??? <another_made_up_xml_tag /> </a_made_up_xml_element> ? ¡ is formatted properly in emails, but not in the group¡¯s message archive. ? It appears that the ¡°Message Formatting¡± section of the settings page only changes the format of emailed messages, and we don¡¯t have a problem with those. ? Is this a bug or is there a setting that I¡¯m missing? ? Thanks, ? Re: Hotmail delivery
Yes, my question was about Hotmail, if other group owners were experiencing non-delivery of supposedly queued emails to hotmail users. One of our hotmail subscribers has had no delivery of groups.io emails for a week even though his delivery history shows a 2xx Queued response. Also because a web search reveals that other email lists/ have reported permanent non-delivery of message traffic supposedly queued by hotmail with the 2xx code.

I have since contacted two other of our hotmail subscribers who report normal email traffic from the group. At this point have no idea why the particular user above has no delivery of our group messages for a week.;they are not in his spam folder. But the problem is apparently limited to him. Re: Wiki
Sharon,
It is in HTML pages along with any attachments in whatever form theyIf you can open those pages in your browser, you can probably copy each from that browser window and them paste it into a blank group wiki page. If that doesn't work you could try opening the pages in notepad (or another plain text editor) and then in he group wiki page editor switch to Source Code mode and paste in the raw HTML code. One potential problem is that Groups.io's wiki may not (probably does not) support all of the HTML formatting elements that those pages contained. So you may have a fair amount of clean-up to do depending on how fancy the original pages were. Another problem would be the attachments. If they are images you can use the Add Image button to insert them. If they are something else I'm not sure what you can do. Maybe host the file somewhere and provide a link to it on the wiki page. If your group's wiki is available only to group members you could put the attachment in your group's files section and link to it from the wiki. It isn't as easy to as it should be though, for lack of a permalink on the files. Wiki
I just downloaded a wiki from Google Classic Sites.
It is in HTML pages along with any attachments in whatever form they were attached in. Any chance that these could (eventually) be imported to a Groups.io wiki? Sharon ---- Sharon Villines [email protected] "Neighbors Talking to Neighbors¡± Takoma Park DC and MD |

Received from Drew at 9/2/2018 12:18 PM UTC:
Is there an ongoing problem with delivery to hotmail? We have a complaint from a Hotmail subscriber who has received no group email for a week. His and other hotmail addresses show "Queued mail for delivery -> 250 2.1.5" response in their delivery history. Response code 250 indicates successful delivery. Your member may need to look in his spam folder or other folder he might filter email into. If he can't find the email, he needs to talk to Hotmail. It's not a GIO problem. Jim H |

Art,
My status here is that my invite to "transfer@... " (twice) hasThat depends on what the In Process page for your transfer says. If it says the invite has been received then you just need to wait for notice that the invitation has been accepted. Revisit the In Process page from time to time to check for any new status messages at the top. Jim,
According to what you say here they system is not receiving the inviteThat could be true. But you haven't answered my questions so I'd say that's just a possibility. On the Start Transfer page, at the bottom is in bold letters is theDoes clicking on it produce any response at all? It should at least drop down an empty list (the top line of the list is always just that hyphen that you see when the drop-down is closed). If not maybe there's a problem with the browser you're using. That would be a bug to report to [email protected], but first you should try another browser to be sure. If it drops down a list containing only that hyphen that certainly indicates a problem with getting your transfer "into the system". So far as I know your Y!Group address should appear in the In Process list as soon as you click the "Start Group Transfer Process" button below the checkboxes, before you've even sent the invitation. I have been to the help page, been to this group and read everything IHave you contacted [email protected] ? Ultimately that's the place to report bugs with the system. Re: Hotmail delivery
Duane,
Queued mail for deliveryAs mentioned to Drew and Frances, those responses are not errors. It shouldn't keep the emails from eventually being delivered,In fact, it is almost a statement that the message will be delivered (diversion to Spam or another folder is also considered delivery). though no one can be sure how long the delay is,Microseconds to minutes is the range you should expect. Programmers often use queues to organize things; it doesn't necessarily imply a perceptible delay from a human's point of view. and there's nothing GIO can do about it.Not about those particular response codes, but there could be other issues going on with delivery to Microsoft-powered services. That's happened in the past and could require GIO's intervention to straighten out. Frances,
MSN as well. Same Outlook error. As I mentioned to Drew, 2xy is not an error - it is a success response. Error response are 4xy ("try again later") and 5xy ("Don't try again"). Drew,
His and other hotmail addresses showStatus codes 2xy are success codes. You should read "Queued mail for delivery" as meaning "I got it". Is there an ongoing problem with delivery to hotmail? We have aDeliverability to Microsoft-powered email services has been spotty or worse in the past, so I wouldn't be too surprised if there's another episode afoot. Or it could just be that the member isn't checking his/her spam folder. Shal -- Help: /static/help More Help: /g/GroupManagersForum/wiki Even More Help: Search button at the top of Messages list |

Re: Am I missing how to do this? i.e. I Need new member requests to explain why they are qualified to be approved
#addmembers
360,
(interesting name - perhaps you could set a display name in your GMF group profile...) There is no way to "require" that a request to join include certain information.? This has been discussed in the beta forum ->? A "Pending Subscription" notice is sent when someone applies to join and you can put your request to email certain info in there. Thanks Toby |
